Wonderful little small town diner. Great food, good prices, nice cabin feel and decor, friendly staff. Was a nice stop.

Nice little mom and pop breakfast restaurant. Great omelets, cheap prices, but a long wait.
Pros:
– Very cheap. We spent $17 for two plates with sides and drinks.
– Fantastic omelets.
– Decent selection (eggs, sausage, pancakes, pie…)
Cons:
– It took 30 minutes to get our food
– The coffee was really weak
– Fries and hashbrowns could have been a little more crispy
Overall, it’s great if you want a cheap bite to eat and are willing to wait. Don’t go if you’re on a tight schedule.

FANTASTIC!! Girls day out. Wendy took care of our table. We did have a bit of a water spill. Best country fried steak I’ve ever had!!! Absolutely loved the quick banter between the staff and regular customers. Felt like we were in a family kitchen. Highly recommended.

Had Breakfast. Biscuits and gravy was awesome. One of the best I’ve ever had. Very fluffy. Sausage links were very good. Hash browns not so great. Apple scones were the best. Service was excellent.

Absolutely amazing breakfast!! My boyfriend and I both had the Denver omelette delicious!! Staff was very friendly. Highly recommend if you are looking for a good home cooked meal.

The food here is good. The service is a little slow, but better than a number of restaurants I have eaten. I think this is due to the food preparation and kitchen equipment limitations. If I am ever in Shell Lake again, I will eat here again. The reason for only four stars is the lack of fountain drinks. I would actually give this place 4.5 stars. I would have liked a little larger glass of Diet Coke than 12oz. The rye toast here is almost worth the drive from Milwaukee. For a small city restaurant, this is better than established, higher end restaurants in Mwaukee. I do not know the name of the chef here, but that person deserves more money and benefits. This is a restaurant whose food is worth eating.
