Casual spot for BBQ. Came here on a Sunday for lunch—you order first, pay and then find a seat. We got the Pulled Pork Platter, 1/2 Rack Dry Ribs and Memphis Sushi (sausage cheese platter). Overall food was good, but the meats were a bit dry, so you’ll need the BBQ sauces they offer. The sides were just okay—we got the Mac & Cheese, BBQ Beans, Smoked Green Beans and the Potato Salad. Ended up sitting at the bar for some drinks—you can order food from there as well! Staff were really nice here.

We wanted to get good local BBQ and got this recommendation from a local guy. We got a couple pulled pork platters and a rack of ribs. The meat had just the right amount of smoke and flavor. Sauces were great as well. Beans, slaw, and mac and cheese awesome. I used to live in middle TN so have had my fair share of BBQ. They definitely do it right. Highly recommend stopping here. Leftover ribs were great the next day as well. Don’t miss it when you’re here.

I’m pretty sure Peg Leg just ruined BBQ ribs for me, because I’ll be comparing everything I have from here on out to these! Fall off the bone with just the right amount of smoke and a rub that hits all the traditional flavors. Just incredible. A must when visiting Nashville.

Great food and great service. The BBQ Sandwich, Pork Rinds were amazing. The Banana Pedding was also . Definitely worth coming here vs any place on Broadway. Great prices for a family owned restaurant. Coming from Miami we were very happy to dine in.

We made a quick day trip to Nashville from Memphis TN. Now of course we LOVE out Memphis BBQ but always up for trying new places! I love the Vibe of the Place. Had a Half rack of ribs and some whole Chicken wings. I love the dry rub seasoning used and the sauce provided for dipping on the side. I thought was reasonably priced fir what we got!

Very solid with lots to recommend.

Reviewed after a single visit and it was solo so the order didn’t explore the whole menu. Had the half rack of ribs with two sides and added a link of jalapeno cheese sausage. This was a late lunch on a Tuesday in December so ymmv for service. My order was placed and called out for counter pick up in 3 minutes or less. Sides were it as was the main. I liked that they had metal silverware available as well. The mac and cheese was good though noodles were fairly soft, though not rubber or lifeless. Beans were definitely my favorite of the two. I shredded up a little of my rib meat and tossed some of the table side Louisiana hot sauce in them and they became even better. Really liked them with the extra heat to balance the sweetness of them. For the sausage it was impressive. One of the more distinctly jalapeno flavors I’ve had from a BBQ joint sausage. The star was the ribs. Definitely a different style than I usually get in Texas but they were really great. They varied in texture for me depending on how close to the middle vs end the bit was. The bbq sauce really brought the some of those more lean bites to life imo. The sauce was perfectly paired imo. I’d come back and try the chicken and other items in a heartbeat if I get a chance to return.

Excited to see Anthony Bourdain on the wall, one of the few famous folks I am a fan of.
The menu is tight and def southernly charmed.
The food. Ribs were dry, fries were awful, beans were honestly the best part of the meal……next to the sausage.
I’ve had BBQ all over the country and for a place that owns so many awards…..? I’ll stick with Dinosaur BBQ in Rochester…….

Peg Leg Porker was delicious.The dry rub ribs are easily some of the best we’ve have ever had perfectly seasoned, tender, and packed with smoky flavor without being drowned in sauce. You can really taste the care and skill that goes into the barbecue here. The ribs have that perfect balance of bark on the outside and juicy meat inside that falls right off the bone.

The atmosphere is laid-back. If you’re a true BBQ lover, Peg Leg Porker is a must-visit especially for those dry rub ribs.

Peg Leg Porker, and no, it is not just my name at the bus stop. Jokes aside, this was by far the best barbecue I have had outside of Texas.

I arrived a bit late, so many of the proteins were already sold out, but I managed to get a pulled pork sandwich that was absolutely out of this world. The flavor was spot on, with just the right amount of seasoning, temperature, texture, and a tangy sauce that tied everything together.

On the side, I had the mac and cheese and potato salad, which made for an incredibly flavorful combination. I am already looking forward to coming back on my next visit to Nashville.
