I hadn’t been to the Peerless in years, but I took advantage of an opportunity to eat there a couple of weeks ago. I will say that I was very pleasantly surprised, as I thought the food was much better than it had been in the past. I had prime rib, and my husband had chicken. We both enjoyed our entrees, and the margarita I had was one of the best I’d had in a long time. We both felt that the prices were not much higher than a mid-range steakhouse chain, but the food was much better quality. If you haven’t been there in awhile, I would definitely give it another chance!

My family and I have dined at Peerless Restaurant on numerous occasions and each visit has been a great dining experience. The food is always top quality, expertly prepared and distinctively delicious. The menu is varied and the numerous dishes served over the years continue to be remarkable and memorable. Prices are very reasonable for such superb offerings. Desserts are heavenly… The service and the ambiance are excellent.

Was a little surprised by the plastic folding tables used to accommodate our party. Otherwise the server and service was great. The food was decent, but not so much the canned sweet peas in the salad. I personally think it’s best to not even have the peas in the salad if they’re not “garden fresh.”

Just moved here from CO. Was staying at a hotel close by. Stopped in for carry out and a drink at the bar. Everyone was SO friendly. Got so excited about our take out that I forgot my purse. Called the next morning to see if I had indeed left it there and they had even put it in the safe for me!! The bartender was the sweetest (I believe it is Sheila). Will definitely be back now that we are settled in the area!! Food was great as well. Thanks again!!

I was a little disappointed with this restaurant. My husband and I went here for 6 year anniversary. The atmosphere is very nice so as soon as we walked in we were excited but that was the only thing from here on out. It took the waiter a while to great us and by the time he did we had our whole order ready. I was surprised they offer crackers and butter. My house salad had a pickle instead of a cucumber and covered in peas. I wish I would have known there were peas in my house salad I would have never ordered it. My 25 dollar sea food dish was unsatisfactory. It was mostly breading. My husband’s 22 dollars steak dish was so under cooked it was red inside. Probably won’t waste my money here again.

Historic (80 years), outstanding dining atmosphere. Serviceable bar area (cocktails), but nothing outstanding (no risks, no large selection of bourbon, for example, 3 faucet beer tap with Stella, Miller Lite, and another mainstream beer). Entree was tasty (Carbonera) and reasonably priced, and salad was fresh. I did not enjoy the crab cake. Limited dessert menu.

My party took advantage of their Memorial Week special they posted in the Loafer Magazine. Prior to this special, we had never eaten here and probably would not have given it a second thought. I am glad we did. We had a wonderful experience at The Peerless. The food was very good, the service was great and the environment was exactly what I expected. I really thought the cost was very reasonable as well. We look forward to eating there again.

I had the seafood and friends and the shrimp we’re large and tender, perfectly cooked, and my wife had the smaller Prime Rib, which was perfect and more than she could eat. Our server was very prompt and kept our glasses full and the wonderful rolls fresh and hot as needed. An excellent place for a casual lunch or a formal supper.

My husband and I went to Peerless Restaurant in Johnson City for our 35th anniversary. Our dinner was excellent. Our prime ribs were cooked to perfection – mine medium and my husband’s rare, and both equally delicious. The salad was superb and I can’t stop raving over the salad dressing that was recommended by our waiter. The waiter was very attentive and treated us royally. We were seated immediately – no waiting at all, a concern as we did not think to make a reservation. I can’t wait to go back.

My husband and I are very impress with your restaurant. We love your food and the restaurant is all ways clean and neat looking. Your waiters are always polity and helpful. We drive 40 miles one way to get to dine with you which is a 90 mile trip, but it is a treat for us. I gave it a 5 star rating.
