What’s going on here? I can never catch them open. I go on what is their scheduled open days with no luck. I’ve been going for over 70 years. Introduced to them by my uncle and grand pa. I think the kids have closed the books on this icon. I now live 350 miles away but stop by on my way in just by chance they are open. Asked a few friends to check in but no one seems to know what’s going on. Time moves on I guess I need to also.

It’s so good and I love how small and simple it is! My Dad has been coming here since he was a kid and has brought me a few times!

Disappointed. The sandwiches were salty yet lacked flavor, watery, mushy. A sauce would help a lot. This is the same pulled pork sandwiches I make from the crock pot, just throw it in and add sauce. Maybe they drained the sauce. It didn’t seem to have any bbq essence at all or chunks of meat. It wouldn’t be so bad, but for $8 each, it was a bit steep for the quality. The owners were very friendly and appreciative of the business. I just recall it being better when I visited way back when. The cole slaw was okay. They were out of the beans. I generally prefer to support local businesses, esp. if they’ve been around a long time, but they should taste their food before serving.

One of the last family owned and operated food stands in the Burbank Glendale area. The best barbecue ever. Established in 1946.

An institution you should not miss. The Okie Beef is the bomb. You’ll surely be able to eat two of them.

Been going to this place off and on for almost 60 years when my dad introduced me to my first BBQ sandwich here. This has been my go to place every time I visited my family and friends in and around Burbank. I would always make a effort to stop at this place for lunch. I have tried just about everything on the menu with messy success. I would almost always take it and eat at the park near by. I have never been disappointed anytime I ordered a meal here.

Ii LOVE this place. ’m 67 and Been going there and enjoying their incredible sandwiches and sides since my brothers and I were kids. Our mom used to go on her lunch our from the studios back in the 40s. That’s how long they have been in business. Sometimes I get the craving and I just have to visit nothing else will do!! The just started there 74 the year .I have been going there since 1981. If you want to try something that is completely different you have to try a Okie Beef or Pork or Ham or Turkey sandwich that melts in your mouth. They do Pork ribs only on Saturday and Sunday . You have to go there when they open at 11:00am to place a order because they only do a limited amount. You might like it you might not …. Look it up. They don’t have a phone number but that’s a different story Enjoy . One of the smallest places l have ever been

Came by on a Friday around noon time to get lunch and the place was closed. I could be wrong but it looked like it has been closed for some time. Needless to say I was disappointed as I have been excited to try this place and it’d be nice if the schedule was updated on here.
