We came as a group to Pecina’s Mexican Restaurant, since it was located right across the street of the church where my brother-in-law’s memorial service took place.
We had party of approximately, 16 people and they cleared a sitting place to accommodate all of us.
Since it was Valentine’s Day this place was really busy and staff were well organized really welcoming and very efficient.
The food was good nothing to brag about, and as with every Mexican restaurant all the salsas, and guacamole contains cilantro. Have news, not every Hispanic wants cilantro in their salsa or guacamole.
The staff were very pleasant they did an outstanding job in meeting all our needs I don’t think and one went hungry.
This was my first time there, and since we were only there for a solemn occasion I can’t say that I will visit this place again. Bug would like to encourage those in El Reno to please and eat at least once here.

Stopped by Pecina’s on our last visit to El Reno. Had a good time overall but it wasn’t anything that blew us away.
It’s a small cozy place just southwest of downtown. Really clean both inside and out which was nice to see. The staff was polite but kept their distance with us. They seemed more relaxed with other customers who came in while we were there. Probably regulars.
The white queso is as good as people say. And the tortilla chips were honestly some of the best we’ve had. Not greasy at all. They also brought out another cheese dip that was pretty tasty. The salsa was okay but nothing memorable.
One thing that bugged us was how little they brought of everything. No refills either. We barely saw our server so we never got a chance to ask for more. Later on we noticed another table asked and got refills so maybe we should have said something. Still felt like we were left guessing.
We ordered the double fajitas since the menu made a big deal about their special spices and preparation. The meat was tender and had good flavor but was on the salty side. Portion wise it felt small. Normally we can’t even finish a single order of fajitas at other places but we had no problem finishing the double here.
Also the tortillas were thin and tasted like they came from a package. And instead of butter they gave us some whipped vegetable oil spread which was a letdown.
We were hoping this would be one of those places worth making a trip for. It’s not quite there. But if we’re passing through again we’d probably give it another shot and just know what to expect.

The chips, tortillas, cheese and salsa were delicious. We enjoyed the meals we ordered. My hubby gave me a few bites of his churro with caramel and vanilla sauce, and it was so tasty! We only had to wait 5-10 minutes on a Friday night to get a table we wanted which is not bad at all! They were full and the place is small- but there’s enough room that my anxiety didn’t kick in, because it was busy, not crazy. They have an insane amount of people working the dining area, so the service was phenomenal. We didn’t have to wait long for anything. Everyone working was incredibly friendly. They must have just as many cooks in the back because our food came out crazy fast, but was somehow all fresh. Also, the decor and the patio were all beautiful! I love traveling and finding amazing Mexican restaurants. This was one of my most positive dining experiences

The restaurant is about less than 4 miles off route 40. On vacation, I told my husband I want to go to a new place for Taco Salad. Pecina has the highest rating on Google for the area.

The appetizer, chips and two types of sauce is superb! I have never tasted sauce so delicious. My mouth is salivating writing the review. I ordered Chicken Taco Salad. OMG! The best!!!

I checked out the restroom. It is clean and colorful.

The next time I stop by the restaurant, I will order a different food item in the menu. I will also order a Chicken Taco Salad to go.

We drove all the way to Las Vegas. I tried to find a similar tasting Taco Salad and appetizer. I did not find it.

This is a great little family owned Mexican restaurant in El Reno. It’s really popular with the locals and for good reason. The food is very good, the portions are large and the service is great. It’s a small place, so sometimes it gets a little crowded, but they have plans to move into a bigger location soon. Next time you’re out in El Reno, stop in for lunch or dinner. You’ll be glad you did.

When you first walk upon this place, it looks like a small cultured house. You walk inside, seems a little crowded but the atmosphere is like a little Homey. The food is absolutely delicious and the service is very good. The whole staff is hustling and bustling while they are filling and emptying the tables. Parking is in front on the main street or to the side on a dirt square. Being a quant place, I would definitely recommend trying this place to eat great food. It is well worth it.

Great chicken nachos, the white queso was excellent. Freddie was polite and checked in on our needs. My nachos were made exactly how I wanted them. My only negative is the place is small and i can only imagine how it will feel when full. A flood of customers as were were done. We went before 11.30am. My coworker ordered the enchilada and tamale

This was a fabulous find off the 40 as we were driving through El Reno, OK. Great food served to order very fast with friendly service! The chicken tostadas and the beef quesadilla were very good. Fresh sopapillas dusted with sugar and cinnamon and kissed with honey for dessert finished our lunch. We will seek this place out anytime we are driving through – such a great find!
