I love the absinthe drip, Jade 1901 is wonderfully complex. Favorite cocktail on happy hour is probably the old Cuban, but death in the afternoon (champagne and absinthe) is an easy go-to. And those milkshakes…
For the food, highlights would be the Mac and cheese (gruyere and gran padano ), the charcuterie board, and the burger. I think the only distinct miss I had was the croque madame, the flavor wasn’t there and somehow the fries weren’t as good as when I got the burger. Everything else is great, rabbit terrine is nice for a light bite
The food was excellent and full of flavor. The atmosphere made it feel like a special night out without trying too hard.
If you want great food, a beautiful setting, and service that actually cares, this is the spot.
We started with the mushroom fritters served with crème fraiche which were delicious! Perfectly fried with a creamy, not too rich, center. We also split the haricot vert salad with green beans, pickled cauliflower, diced tomatoes, sliced almonds, feta and bacon (lardons) which they put on the side as I don’t care for bacon. It’s lightly tossed in a creamy Dijon dressing which complimented very nicely and wasn’t over dressed.
My husband went with wild mushroom and rabbit crepes for his entree which sounded too intriguing to pass up! He described them as French enchiladas! The rabbit has shredded chicken vibes and the moutarde sauce rounded out the dish nicely.
Lastly, I had the duck confit with red cabbage, apple & Dijon cream sauce. Absolutely delicious! I highly recommend this dish! But here’s the part that took it to the next level… I broke my elbow 6 days ago on my dominant side and cutting my food has been a bit tricky. The chef deboned my duck for me making it much easier for me to enjoy my meal! He did not have to do that, but he took the extra time to make me comfortable and make it so my husband didn’t have to disrupt his dining experience in order to do it for me. Chef, I hope you see this review, it was greatly appreciated! Thank you for going above and beyond!
All in all we were very impressed with the quality of food, the care and the service! I look forward to a return visit and trying more their beautiful menu!
I also can’t get enough of their bouillabaisse, which is flavorful and comforting, and the pasta with peas, which may sound simple but is done so beautifully that it becomes unforgettable.
Beyond the food, the service is amazing — professional, attentive, and warm without ever feeling overbearing. The ambiance ties it all together: elegant, cozy, and inviting, making every dinner feel special.
If you’re looking for a place in Austin that combines exceptional food, thoughtful service, and a wonderful atmosphere, Peché is the place. Highly recommended!
We started with a couple of mock-tails, and even without the alcohol, they were incredibly crafted and full of flavor. For food, we shared the mac ‘n’ cheese (so rich and creamy—definitely a must), the Ibérico pork, and the grilled beef tenderloin. Every single bite was to die for. The quality, flavors, and presentation were just exceptional.
Highly recommend Péché for anyone looking to impress on a date night or just enjoy a phenomenal meal. We’ll definitely be back!
