This place never disappoints. The shrimp tacos are fabulous, as is the guaca-mango (didn’t get a picture before we devoured it). Cold beer, good margaritas. Staff is great, they can get very busy so just remain patient.

We had heard great things about Pecao Fonda de Mar, and it truly lived up to the hype. Located on the colonial side of Puerto Morelos, this cozy spot delivered an amazing dining experience. The fish burger was the star of the show — perfectly cooked, flavorful, and unlike anything else we’ve tried. But honestly, everything we ordered was delicious. The service was warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere had a local charm that made us feel right at home. Highly recommended for anyone exploring the other side of Puerto Morelos!

Wow! Lifetime top 5 best meal. Their Aguachile is my new religion. Friends had been raving about this place for months and it was that rare experience of living up to the hype! I would return to Puerto Morelos just to eat here again. Green Papaya Salad!

I’ve been coming to Puerto Morelos for quite some time. The people and vibe are the main reasons I’ve been coming back. The food is also a part of it! Some better than others, for the most part quite enjoyable. A lot has changed in 20 plus years. A new addition, Pecao, on the Colonia side, is an extraordinary addition to the vibrant restaurant scene! From the excellent service warm and cozy environment , the food was the star of the evening! The 7 of us had a dining experience! We are going to remember this evening for ever! Thank you everyone who made this possible!

Pretty much the best seafood restaurant we’ve been to in the Yucatán & Quintana Roo! The food is legit. It’s perfectly seasoned, presented well with extreme attention to detail with beautifully mandolined veggies. The service is a real standout, with everyone helping and so incredibly welcoming (Dani, Amman, Jugo). We knew this was the place to go as there were so many locals filling up the place at inly around 3pm. We will definitely be back while on our vacation. It’s some of the best food we’ve had. The aguachile rojo was so delicious, while the fish Pibil (Tikin Xic) and Marlin gobernador tacos were inventive and off the chart good.
Update: Since they were closed yesterday, we had to try “other” places and came back today because they are officially the best seafood we’ve had…anywhere! Tried new things today. The Tikin Xic burrito was incredible, as was the tuna taco, fish taco, and of course the favorite Tikin Xic taco. The coconut flan was a great ending as it is light and refreshing.
Service was excellent throughout. The place feels like you’re eating with family and friends. It’s cozy and fun. No fuss. Yet the food and it’s various colors and layers of flavor make for a wonderful experience and flavor explosion.

Incredible food, atmosphere, and service! Daniella and Aman went above and beyond to ensure our time at Pecao was amazing. We enjoyed fresh and beautiful fish tacos, ate an incredible watermelon and tuna tostada, and enjoyed beautiful vegan options! This is the #1 spot in Puerto Morelos—you have to eat here!
