Service was quick and really attentive. The brisket queso was so good, the filet was cooked perfectly with sweet potato fries, and the jambalaya had amazing flavor. Honestly might already be a little obsessed and will definitely be back – the menu has so many good options.

I really hate posting low reviews. I want to love this place. I’ve dined in once and it was fine. But I usually take my orders to go. There’s always… always… all…ways something wrong or missing. A sauce that was supposed to come with it. An entire missing side. Sometimes it’s a steak cooked too far. This time I was supposed to be getting a pecan house salad and just got an expensive to go container of mixed greens. No dressing or toppings.
I wouldn’t even normally leave a review (as evidenced by the fact that I thus far have not) and try to chalk it up to a one off, but it seems this is a recurring issue for not only myself both other customers. I won’t be back.
Do not charge top shelf prices for low-middle shelf service. Your customers have been bringing this issue to your attention for a while now.

Loved this place! We had the Brisket Stuffed Jalapeños to start. They were delicious…just the right amount of heat. We also enjoyed the Chicken Fried Steak and Chicken Fried Venison. Both were fantastic! Tender and not overly breaded. The service was friendly and on time. This is a busy little place because it’s wonderful all around, but it still felt cozy and intimate. Absolutely recommend.

This Is one of our favorite places to eat! We drive over an hour just to have dinner here because it has charming atmosphere, great food, and excellent service. My husband tried antelope here, something you don’t find on many menus. Their signature dessert is a must have! This is a perfect place to celebrate a special occasion like an anniversary. Highly recommend!

The drive to San Saba was enjoyable to experience this restaurant. Drinks and the steaks were excellent. Not overpriced. The only complaints I have is the mashed potatoes were just ok and I ordered a “NY Cheesecake” which it is nit a true NY Cheesecake. Super plain. It’s very underwhelming. I will try something else next time. Don’t order the Cheesecake because you will be disappointed. I didn’t try this restaurant for its desserts. The placed lived up to its drinks and steaks.

We were so excited to try this restaurant based on the reviews. Started the evening upstairs in the bar. Bartender was amazing. Super knowledgeable, personable and great to visit with. We should have just stayed upstairs and had dinner. Our waitress was truly awful. Nice enough young girl, but zero waitressing skills. Had to ask her 4 times for a straw. The entire meal we were left with dirty dishes on the table, empty drink glasses and not being checked on. She’d just walk by like we didn’t exist. When our food came, we asked the young man who brought it why we didn’t get any bread like all the other tables had. He told us we had to ask for it. How on earth would we as first time diners know there was bread to be asked for? That was ridiculous. We’d checked out the menu prior to arriving and my husband was excited to try the Venison Fried Steak. Guess what? After ordering our meal the waitress came back to tell us they didn’t have any venison. No Venison. No Cajon Roasted Quail. No Rack of Lamb. The entire Wild section of the menu is gone. The food was heavily salted, and our medium rare steak was clearly medium well. The restaurant itself is beautiful. We’ll try again at some point. Hoping this was a fluke. **Edit to add after restaurant reply…we were here for dinner so the response about no rolls at lunch doesn’t make sense.

Beautiful establishment and food is great but when your out of bread or say its on request and then you order catfish and ask about the hush puppies and they say there out of them, at the prices your charging just not worth it. Mary the waitress did all she could and was very nice. Management needs alot of help.

We were so pleasantly surprised by The Pecan Grill that we have been making the drive to visit numerous times in the last several
Months. For a small town, this place absolutely delivers top-notch service, great food, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that rivals restaurants in much larger cities.
The interior is beautiful and comfortable, the service was attentive and genuinely friendly, and everything felt clean, relaxed, and well run. You can tell the staff takes pride in what they do. It’s the kind of place you can enjoy a fancy or a casual meal, watch a game upstairs , or have a great Dino g experience downstairs.
San Saba is lucky to have a restaurant like this, and we truly hope the community continues to support it. Places like The Pecan Grill are what keep small towns special. We’ll absolutely be back.

I’m sorry, but I have tried here upwards of 10+ times to the point I’m a dreaded figure with the staff. Of course, this is not my fault or I wouldn’t have the gall to complain. Every single time I have been, at minimum, one thing about my order was messed up. This time, I ordered two ruebens, one with REGULAR fries and one with mashed potatoes topped with JALAPEÑO GRAVY. There was no gravy at all and my fries were sweet potatoe fries. The only reason we came here was because the food was good, but nothing else is. The girl who brought me my takeout was even sneering and upset about me asking for the gravy. I don’t know if this was at me or her fellow employees, but it was not a good look. TLDR; Food tastes good, but service is terrible.

We adore this gem of a restaurant. It’s fresh and interesting without being weird – just right ☺️ The autumn salad and beer battered onion rings were a great addition to our filets. The building and service are top notch as well!
