This spot is exactly what everyone is talking about: a fantastic modern Southern restaurant.
We kicked things off with, Angel Eggs (heavenly) and Southern Pecan Cornbread (w/ a hint of orange zest). For the main event, the Half Chicken was unbelievably juicy and seasoned to perfection. The Cowboy Caviar and Succotash weren’t just afterthoughts; they elevated the entire entree into something sophisticated.
We finished the night with their signature Mason Jar Desserts. The Pecan Pie was rich and decadent, a perfect portion too.
The experience goes well beyond the plate. The decor strikes a perfect chord—warm and inviting with Southern charm. However, it’s the staff that truly rounds out the evening. The service was highly knowledgeable about the menu and consistently friendly.
If you are looking for a stellar meal, this place is a must-visit.
And the beer itself? Incredible. They have such a fantastic range, always something new and exciting to try, but their [mention a style, e.g., stout, IPA, sour] is particularly outstanding. You can really taste the care and creativity in every sip. Plus, the pecan theme isn’t just a name – they cleverly weave those delicious, subtle pecan notes into some of their beers, making for truly unique and memorable flavors
We started with the Southern BBQ chicken flatbread and a hot latte. For mains, my wife and I shared the PK Burger and the pecan-fired salmon superfood. Not bad.
The best part for me was the drinks. You get a tap card and can pour your own cocktails, beers, and wines. All are priced by the ounce and very reasonable. I had a couple of beers and a Moscow mule. The spicy ginger was a little strong on the mule which was a letdown.
Service was great! Our server was friendly and accommodating. Definitely a spot worth checking out.
We started with the grilled sweet potatoes and the cheese board; both were wonderful. The entrées hit and missed: the Florida pecan fire-grilled grouper was tasty, and the Demkota Ranch filet was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The chili lime Kvarøy Arctic salmon was super spicy but good. The Citrus Grilled Florida shrimp and the Marsh Hen Mill cheesy grits were good but we thought they could use a bit more flavor.
Dessert was a highlight, the pecan pie served in a mason jar was great. Drinks included: Pear Pressure was light and refreshing, Old Fashioned was my husband’s favorite, Pecan bar tap wall raspberry beer was delicious. Espresso martini was a miss for me, a tad too syrupy from the bar tap wall, the prosecco was nice.
The staff were friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Our waitress Daniela was great! Everything went like clockwork without a hitch, which was even more impressive considering it was the day they opened their doors.
In all, great dining experience with excellent food, drinks, and atmosphere. We would be back again!
The Food:
• Starters: The Southern Pecan Cornbread was sweet, buttery, and delicious. We also loved the Grilled Sweet Potatoes—the chimichurri was excellent, though we found ourselves wishing for an extra side of it!
• Mains: The kids enjoyed the Shrimp Fire Sticks. My wife loved her Pecan Fired Mushroom Melt, and my Florida Shrimp Coco-Datil Flatbread was flavorful and fresh.
• Dessert: Don’t skip the craft mason jar desserts or the whoopie pie—perfect for cleansing the palette.
The Drinks:
The self-serve draft wall for beer, wine, and spirits is super convenient. It’s a great system, though a few more beer varieties would make it even better.
Overall: A solid spot for a high-quality meal. We’ll definitely be back!
I have ordered both the whole chicken and the half chicken. The whole chicken was on leg day, so it was necessary. Both were outstanding. My wife has had the chicken sandwich and the filet, and every dish has been excellent every time we come. The food is consistently on point.
The cocktails from the bar were fantastic. We also really love the pour your own drink section. Being able to pour smaller portions lets you try a variety of drinks without overdoing it. Starting with an espresso martini to get the flavor without committing to a full pour is such a great concept.
We also tried the jacked cornbread appetizer this time and it was so good. It pairs perfectly with cocktails and is an easy recommendation.
The au jus that comes with the chicken is unreal. If they forget to bring it out, make sure you ask for it because it takes the dish to another level. For sides, the mushrooms and broccolini are our favorites. The potatoes come with a Dijon-style dipping sauce and are great, especially alongside the chicken, though they could use a little salt if you are eating them on their own.
Dessert is perfectly done. The mason jar desserts are ideal portion sizes. Ordering a couple plus a whoopie pie is the move. Strongly recommend the pecan pie.
This visit was also special because it was my wife’s birthday. They surprised her with a dessert and a sweet little gift, which was such a thoughtful touch.
We sat at a high top in the bar and Kaitlin was our server. If an owner is reading this, give her a bonus. Incredible service, kind, attentive, accurate, and genuinely made the experience better.
Huge thank you to the owners for bringing this restaurant to Fruit Cove. We need places like this and we want this one to be here forever.
Summary. Go give them your money and enjoy every bite.
I had the Pecan Deluxe hand held sandwich with a side of the Roasted Herbed New Potatoes and so did one of our friends. We both agreed that it was very delicious. It was a bit messy so we both ended up using a knife and fork to eat it and that worked just fine. The potatoes were a little spicy but were very good.
My husband got the Hi Lo BBQ hand held with Southern Black Eyed Pea Caviar that he said was delicious. He also opted for using a knife and fork. He especially liked the peas. He said the BBQ sauce was sweet and not spicy.
The 4th person in our party ordered the Charleston hand held with a side of the Grilled Son & Skye Local Mushrooms. She said hers was delicious as well.
For desert my husband and I shared a chocolate Whoopi pie and our friends shared a Pecan Pie sweet treat.
The waitress was very pleasant and helpful, our food came out promptly, and was nicely plated. We loved the atmosphere. We did not use the beverage wall but it looked like a fun way to dispense drinks. We all loved our food and agreed we would definitely return.
Update: Two weeks later, we returned with another couple for lunch. Our meals were just as wonderful. We tried the Jacked-Up Cornbread Bites for an appetizer. So light and delicious. I had the Pecan Deluxe again but changed my side to the broccolini. The broccolini was cooked perfectly. I had to bring half of my meal home because I just couldn’t eat any more. So good. My husband tried the Southern BBQ Chicken Comfort plate. He enjoyed his meal but did prefer the Southern Black-eyed Pea Caviar he had last visit. One of our friends had the PK Burger and the other had the Caesar salad with the chicken. They both enjoyed their meals and agreed they would return and was glad to have such a nice restaurant so close to home. Keep up the good work! Our waitress was a gem!
