We had a lovely experience at Peau de Vache, the atmosphere is laid back and romantic. Even though this is a steakhouse, they still had some good fish options on the menu. Our waiter was a friendly young fellow who was attentive and quick..not bias since our French is atrocious. I had the mahi mahi which was excellent and cooked to perfection, the only downfall was the overcooked vegetables. My husbands steak was delicious. Would definitely recommend!

Atmosphere and service was very friendly. However they got my order wrong and the Fois Gras Burger was burned instead of medium well and dry.

Just discovered this lovely restaurant on our 3rd vacation in Saint Martin and had an excellent time. Friendly and attentive service, great selection of wines and a very nice food menu for various tastes. We had the duck breast and a steak and both was very delicious. The setting with many tables outdoor under a tree adjacent to the main restaurant square of Orient Bay, is fab. Will be back and highly recommend the place.

Wow! How do you find the worse French restaurant in a French island? We did. I’ll start with the French onion soup is all I can say. Don’t order it. Next I order an escargot appetizer. That was good. The bread was crusty and fresh. Now the meal, I ordered the Picanha /w spicy rice . It came with a lime sauce. My wife ordered the Ribeye steak /w mac and cheese with some imitation chimmichurri sauce . Both pieces of steak were so bland, mine burnt and my wife’s fatty and tasteless. In short I wish I had looked at the ratings before I waited my money and time sitting here.

Everything we had was amazing! One night was goat cheese salad: dressing light goat cheese was wrapped in a light coating of something delish! The next time we had a Cesar of great flavor and generous proportion. For a main dish we had a the sea bass with cabbage and cauliflower puree – wow the layers of flavor. And if you have a craving for a burger well, it’s the best I have had. Sadly, we wanted to eat there one more time before our trip ended and they were closed. Amazing Chef and great wait staff. Hope to see you again.

Skip this spot and go to literally any other restaurant in this area. Service was painfully slow, and all parties order was incorrect. Carpaccio was good. Steak was tough and bland. Incorrect side dish. Salmon was good, but incorrect side dish also. We have been to almost all the restaurants here and recommend any one but this.

The owner Peter was very friendly when we first approached. We sat – lovely spot, great weather. Service was good. We ordered the escargot – and it was good. My husband ordered the mahi mahi and I had the French onion soup (at the suggestion of the owner).
I sent it back – it had burned bread in it and was just awful. My husband’s mahi mahi was incredibly dry (the veggies were good). Overall disappointing – and the owner never once made eye contact with us again… didn’t approach, no apology -nothing.

We had a great diner at Peau de Vache. I had the onglet steak with a bernaise sauce with fries and salad. All were excellent. My daughter had a kids meal which she enjoyed.
