In 1984, Alan Robbat had a great career in the nightclub business as the owner of The Palace in Saugus, MA. It had always been his dream to one day open a bar & restaurant where good friends gathered to have a good time.
Alan partnered with his good friend Ben Maganzini and established the original Pearl Street on the corner of Pearl and Charles Streets in Malden. People came from all over to partake in the BBQ Steak Tips, Baby Back Ribs, & sumptuous Fisherman’s Platter.
In May of 1998, Alan & Ben set up shop at the former Western Division of the Boston & Maine Railroad and the former Summerside Lodge.
Today, Pearl Street Station is a fixture in the Malden Community and the Pearl Street Legacy lives on after Alan’s passing in July, 2025.
A renovated Boston & Maine railroad station houses this eatery & sports bar with a diverse menu.

I’ve ordered takeout from here several times and the food is great, but I dined in for the first time today and the service is quite bad. Our server didn’t even give us water or tell us the specials. Both server and host were quite inattentive and awkward.

Sports bar with rustic vibes, great food options with generous servings. We sampled various dishes from ribs and turkey, chicken parmesan and roast each made deliciously.
My friends really enjoyed their Martinis. Friendly service with great price points.

Very cool spacious restaurant/sports bar.
It has a big menu. Been here multiple times, the fajitas are wonderful.
Today, I ordered the pearl street combo. It comes with steak tips, lamb tips , sausage, and spare ribs. It also comes with 1 side. I substituted barbecued chicken for the lamb tips. If you like barbecued meat, then this is where it’s at.
The quality of meat is excellent and cooked to perfection. I didn’t want the meal to end, but after eating it there is no room for dessert. By the way, reasonable prices also.

Short rib was 11/10; chicken Caesar salad wrap 7/10. But the vibe was perfect. Phenomenal specialty drinks. Will absolutely be back.

Food was a bit pricey for what you got.
I think meals should offer a starch and veggies.
Steak tips were chewy but nice flavor.
Our waiter was great!!

Food was alright, maybe a little overdone in the fries and meats. Server was sweet, knowledgeable, and friendly, but not the most attentive.
The atmosphere is AMAZING in the historical train station. Has a fun little gambling game for if you just pay for drinks or your whole meal. It’s a very bingo/lottery vibe where if the waiter pulls your number, it’s free.

my hubby and i went to have dinner here on Tuesday night because we were in the area. Its a favorite of ours and it did not disappoint. The place was hopping for a Tuesday night and the steak tips were so good. The highlight of our night was our server Emily. She was friendly , fast service and always had a smile on her face. We witnessed her helping an elderly regular , being so kind and friendly to him. It was so heartwarming to see. If you go in ask to be at Emily’s table, shes a gem and the food is delish

Have been walking near this restaurant for the past 10 years, and never entered it, and it is because somebody posted in the reviews an ugly first picture of the restaurant inside. We didn’t have any high expectation from this place, so thought that we’ll just enjoy a pizza inside, and that’s it. To our biggest surprise, it came that this restaurant looked inside very good, had great variety of food and drinks, and not only pizza. Will definitely visit this place again!

I’ve been coming to Pearl st. for over 25 years…last 3 meals I got here had issues. The other night we came in early and it wasn’t busy at all. We ordered the fried clams and scallops….clams were on point. The scallops were tasty but very undercooked… The Onion rings were half raw like not crispy whatsoever. The service started out good but quickly went south, surprised cuz ‘ it was not crowded… waited 25 mins after she took our plates for a check and box for leftovers. I explained to the general manager and His only solution was to offer me a free dessert… I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for many years. It’s customary to at least comp your appetizer or offer a free drink or drinks or perhaps a gift card for a free app ….. A month ago I came in and ordered Pizza, The cheese was sliding right off the dough not good … I guess Billy was out sick , he knows how to make a great pie. The time before that got a Pearl st. burger , had to stop eating it was rare in the middle and was over saturated with smoke flavor …. Sure every chef has an off night , but C’mon Pearl st. you’re letting your fans down! please do better , its still a wicked Awesome time ,it just Sucks when you’re disappointed like this repeatedly

My friend and I stopped in Thursday last week for dinner. Our waitress was Maria and she was amazing. She kept my water glass full and gave us extra time to choose our meal. She was very attentive and we were asked if we wanted another GUINESS as well. Our choice was the veggie calzone which was delicious! It was enormous as Maria had indicated and had great leftovers for lunch. Thanks Maria, we’ll be back.
