Originally opened in Bevier, Missouri as The Pear Tree in 1986. Later AJ’s Eat & Drink opened in Macon in 2011. After the Pear Tree of Bevier tragically ended in November 2012 from a fire, we’re back as Pear Tree Kitchen & Bar. We proudly serve the best of the old Pear Tree alongside what you’ve come to love from AJ’s. The new, blended menu provides a perfect balance for everyone’s taste buds. Offering the delectable Pear Tree salad, amazing battered fried lobster, & mouth-watering black Angus beef steaks. Plus, prime rib accompanied by our famous homemade golden onion rings. Extremely impressed with the service staff at AJ’s…never had to ask for a refill, they were always on top of it. Only ordered a sandwich to split and they still brought bread and salad for each of us. Can’t remember our waiters name but he was a younger fella with long hair and was awesome!! He recommended the Tenderloin and served it to us already split up on 2 plates. Super happy we stopped into AJs and looking forward to coming in next visit to the area.

Amazing experience! Top notch drinks, food and service. We went all out. Drove here from Iowa just to visit The Pear Tree for dinner. Arrived at about 1:30pm. We took our time as a tried a variety of options.
Lobster Bites were amazing. Drinks were top notch. For mains we tried Beef Medallions with Grilled Prawns and Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo. Brussels sprouts are worth the Upgrade! They have an ice cream drink menu you can ask for and it’s a great list of choices.
A friend recommended The Pear Tree. I’m not sure I would’ve found this place otherwise. I highly recommend! We walked in at 1:30 pm on a Saturday and the parking lot was full. The bartender said it was actually slow that day. We very much enjoyed everything. Thank you!

Only spot I could find on Google Maps that I felt comfortable stopping at on the ride from Chi to KC. So glad I chose this spot. The establishment was really nice! The food was even better. Staff was courteous and helpful! We got there at happy hour time so they had some specials.
I got a $5 Lemon Drop Martini which was delicious!! The sliders was not small as the picture looks. Super filling since it’s a double Patty slider for both. The cheese burger was a double as well. And the kids meal was a good size!

Wow! We drove 1.5 hours to eat here and it was worth every mile! From the salad to the wedding cake dessert everything was amazing! Best prime rib I’ve ever had, literally melted in my mouth. To top it all off the staff and service were amazing! On the way out a very kind gentleman treated us to a bottle of their house made dressing and homemade croutons. What an amazing dinner, we will definitely return!

Don’t a judge a book by its cover. This place was fantastic but you would think it was just a regular bar and grill from the road. Best cheese burger ever. Salmon was excellent. Service was amazing!!! Will try to find a reason to come to Macon again just to eat here.

We always try to stop when traveling from KC to Illinois because the food and service is great! Had the chicken sandwich with a great salad and baked potato. Everything was fresh and delicious. The decorations on the walls are unique and displayed well.
