Pros:
– Owner is super nice and is there making the orders. It was great to chat with her and hear how she got into the business. So glad she found her calling!
– It’s real shave ice, not a glorified snow cone
– All the flavors you could want! rootbeer has a sarsaparilla taste to it unlike basic rootbeer flavors other places use.
– Owner’s/House flavor combos. Not sure what to have? Ask and trust her, she knows what’s she’s doing and has tried every combination. A little hint, she says rootbeer and blue raspberry is the worst combo (sounds about right) and she won’t serve it to you if you’re adult as she wants you to have a good experience. Love that thinking!
– Cool vibe to the place.
– Tons of parking available (unlike another place down the road)
– The small size is massive!
– Tie-dye merch (lots of color combos)!
Cons:
– Minimal seating, but that’s typical for most shave ice places.
We’ve tried multiple places around Kihei for shave ice and this place is the best. Went there a couple times on our trip. Do yourself a favor and skip the wait at Ululani’s and go to Peace Love Shave Ice; it’s as good or better, more parking, cool vibe, friendly owner on site who cares about her customer’s satisfaction (good luck seeing that anywhere else)

Me and my friend went here after dinner and the lady there was so nice!
I have no complaints to say about the service.

The atmosphere was great, nice Christmas lights, Christmas music, and just vibe in general.

The Hawaiian shaved ice was absolutely amazing!
I got the Customer Favourite and my friend got the pele, they were both 10/10 amazing!

I will definitely be going here the next time I’m in Maui!

Very tasty! I loved the macadamia ice cream at the bottom. Also a very philosophical advice from the server. “If your stomach can’t handle cold too well, let your mouth warm up the shaved ice a bit more and try to have a smaller bite”

I know some people rave about Ululani’s, but I’m a Peace Love Shave Ice girl all the way — and so it my mom. Let me tell you why.

The texture of the ice is good. It’s fine enough that it melts instantly in your mouth, and coarse enough (though I’d by no means call it coarse) to have some kind of texture, unlike a slushee for example. We all know the ice is super nice important, and I can say I’ve never been let down here.

Second is the flavours. There’s a large selection of natural flavours (a must for me and my kids, especially because there are no dyes) and each flavour has a distinct profile. If you get guava, pineapple and watermelon, you’ll know which flarour you’re eating every time you take a bite. I, for one, want that. I don’t want them to be nondescript (which is how my mom and I felt at Ululani’s Tbh). There are also interesting homemade flavours, like Thai Tea (which is delicious).

Last, but not least, the woman who owns it is great. She’s super friendly and helpful if you need a tip on what to get. Her son used to have a second location in Kihei, and I’d definitely say the same for him as well. He’s now up north I think, so if you’re there, look it up.

The wait time is basically nothing, and the experience is delicious from start to finish. Save yourself the time and come here instead of the place TikTok recommends. We’ve tried so many through the years, and this is just legit good, every time.

Allison is fantastic and puts so much love into her craft. The Thai tea is phenomenal and had my husband and me hooked. Peace, Love, and Shave Ice will be our first stop when we make it back to Maui.

The girl works here is nice and the shaved ice is yummy. We came around 8 PM which is their closing time. She still sell us the shave ice and wait until we finishes eating. Really feel heart warmed and high recommend.

So delicious! She explained the selection process and helped us make a decision, very patient and kind. We selected the coconut ice cream topped with melona and pineapple flavors, added condensed milk to the pineapple side and coconut drizzle to the melona. I’m going to think about this shaved ice for the rest of my life.

Been trying shaved ice for the last two weeks while on Hawaii, this one gets 1st place from me! Delicious natural flavors (no bites of flavorless ice), haupia ice cream pairs wonderfully, and the service was lovely

Fantastic! I went simple and my partner went for the works. You can taste the quality of the natural flavors. Next time I’m getting the coffee flavor!

Tiny little shaved ice spot in the parking lot, but totally worth the visit. A lot of events happen in this shopping plaza as well so great to walk around with your snack.
