The service was excellent. It’s got a very family like vibe with a friendly host. She was funny and talkative. She was the soul of the place.
But the food didn’t impress. The pizza had way too much sauce, and was under-seasoned. The pastas were better but they lacked depth of flavor. The tiramisu was good, though.
The atmosphere was fine, but the place is small and they don’t have any setup to prevent winds from blowing in towards the tables every time someone opens the door. It was a cold night, so with people coming in and out, it got chilly, and our food didn’t stay warm for long.
Overall, this place was charming but the food could be better.

Best customer service in all of SF!!! Food was phenomenal, wine is amazing and I never experienced an above and beyond customer service like that in SF and that’s very refreshing. Our time there didn’t feel transactional and we were not rushed at all!

We went here after looking for places to eat that were hard to find for my friend because she’s a vegetarian. It was really cold outside, so the hostess asked if we wanted to sit outside and I did not have my jacket so we said no. We had to wait about five minutes for an inside table, but that was totally fine! I did not mind waiting. As soon as we sat down the waiter asked if we wanted any drinks or anything to get started. We ordered two dirty martinis and the Burratta as an appetizer. The Burrata was just OK by the way. Like 2 to 5 minutes later, he comes back and asked if we’re ready to order the main meals. We say we need just a couple more minutes. When he comes back again it seems like they are in a rush. Basically the waiter said yes it’s a busy night so if you guys can go ahead and order. I have never been rushed like that before at the beginning of dinner. I thought that was a really strange and rude. I ordered the Ragu pasta, which was really good and my friend ordered some spinach cheese ball things which was called a pasta, but she basically said it was just cheese balls with spinach. The martinis came with olives that were not seedless. Normally in a martini they are. Anyway, we wanted another cocktail before we left, but we decided to leave and go to spend our money at a different bar next-door that did not rush us one bit. Even when they brought the food I wanted a before and after picture of before Parmesan versus after Parmesan on my pasta, and the guy with the Parmesan looked at me like he was annoyed. Rude. You would think he would know what I was doing and what I would do with the pictures, reviews, hello !The inside of this restaurant is just OK looking as well. I rated this restaurant so low basically because of the customer service… while the hostess was really nice to get us a table, The rest of the dinner, customer service was just really bad. They kept hovering every 10 minutes to see how quickly we were eating. Never in my life.

Truly all around amazing experience. The food was delicious and came out quick! The spaghetti specifically was spectacular! Fresh light and savory! Everything I’d want and the portions were perfect. Service was so friendly and attentive and atmosphere is warming.

This place has a 30+ history for us :D. One of the waiters could still remember the group! First time for me though. We went there for a quick dinner during a friday night in the city.
Conveniently located in SoMa, easy to get to by car and on foot. Use paid street parking or a nearby garage. We had a reservation, which was good how busy the place was. Very welcoming staff, friendly and helpful. We were seated almost immediately.
Nice selection of Italian staple food and wine list. Settled in with a cocktail and a glass of wine before placing our orders. Had a pasta dish and lasagna as mains. Served fairly quickly. Delicious comfort food, nice flavors and very tasty. We took an equally yummy Tiramisu to go (for a late night sweet with a drink in our hotel).
A minor mistake on the bill was proactively addressed without any fuss. Chapeau! Reasonable pricing for the city and good home-made food, what else are you looking for?! Recommended without any restrictions, will come back for sure.

My boyfriend and I didn’t have a reservation but decided to try our luck walking in on a busy Saturday night. The place was packed and buzzing with energy, but the staff couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating — they made us feel welcome right away.
The food was incredible. I had the wild king salmon spinach paccheri pasta, which was rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. My boyfriend got the sausage pizza — crispy, savory, and loaded with flavor. We also shared the calamari, which was light, crispy, and not at all greasy.
This has quickly become one of my favorite Italian spots in the city. Great vibes, excellent service, and unforgettable food. Can’t wait to come back!

San Francisco has a plethora of restaurants. We were excited to find this gem. The food is authentic Italian, bringing back memories of meals we shared while in Italy. The chicken Marsala was lightly sauced so the dish wasn’t overwhelmed by the sauce. The chicken was very tender, which is hard to get these days. The paparadelle with cinghiale was flavorful. Our prosciutto appetizer with cheese and bread set the tone for an amazing meal. We ended with tiramisu which was large enough to share. Looking around at the other patrons, everyone was enjoying the food, no matter what was chosen. We observed pizzas, calamari, pastas.
The tables are very close together so if you are looking for a private, intimate space, this is not the place.
The one disappointment was the uplift charged for the wine. The bottle price was 4x the street price. We should have checked this before ordering wine.
Reservations highly recommended.

I began with the fritto misto, there’s better in the city at a cheaper price. The margarita pizza was just a glorified cheese pizza with one leaf of basil in the center. I had to ask for more basil. I also had to ask for parm. My next curiosity is the pasta. People I dined with liked the parpadelli and the rigatoni, I don’t eat pork so that’s me passing their experience to you guys in my review. Julia and Carlos were professional and welcoming. 2nd try: the Caesar salad was over dressed and came with 4 croutons and the dressing was underwhelming with no anchovy taste, the worst Caesar salad I’ve ever had. The chicken was overcooked the broccoli was good but everything was oily. The bread was underwhelming too. I got a tiramisu on the house because of the chicken and it was good. Overpriced for what I got though.

This is really top-notch authentic Italian food! We had a reservation on a weeknight and were seated immediately upon arriving. Our server was great and pointed out some keynote dishes on the menu. We selected a bottle of wine (solid wine list) and got started.
We tried a little of everything. For appetizers, the carpaccio was the best I’ve had in a long time and the meatballs were just perfect. As tender and tasty as it gets. I followed that up with a sausage pizza and loved it as well. Nice chewy Neapolitan crust with a fine patina.
For desert I had to have the tiramisu. I’m sure I’ve never had better! Seems like it’s been a long time since I had an Italian meal that brought it all together so well. Can’t wait to come again!
