I am Steven Payne, owner of Paynes restaurant from the UK, Yorkshire to be exact. In homage to Tradition, Paynes takes food very seriously. I want my patrons to realize the link between food, health, happiness and the old adage “ you are what you eat” Providing sustenance to the ones I love and my community is all that I could call a success. Bound by the reality of economics, not by the reality of the Corporation, It is my pleasure to introduce to you Paynes Restaurant. There Is no compromise, nutrition and flavor will always guide us. Fellowship around a table, bottle of wine, looking into the eyes of who you love.. heaven We do it daily, pride ourselves on it and stake our reputation to it.

We visited Payne’s on Sunday and the food was delicious! We started with a black bean dip and chips and it was so yummy! Then I had the medium Fish and Chips and my husband had the Bangers and Mash. It was so delicious! Everything was perfect! The crispy fish was excellent and the fries were cooked perfectly. My husband’s Bangers and Mash was so interesting because they use rutabagas with the potatoes. The flavor was exceptional!! We loved it! Atmosphere was great also.

If you’re looking for a great bite to eat, that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg or take forever and want to leave with your belly full, Go to Payne’s‼️Their food is absolutely delicious. They have very generous portion sizes and the atmosphere is always great. The fish n chips is crazy delicious. The wait staff is always friendly, and the cooks are always fast and our order is always right! If I were you, I would skip the subway, Burger King, or Cracker Barrel, and head to Paynes. You’ll save money and leave way happier.

This pub inspired restaurant has a lot to offer anyone who likes Brittish food. Each meal starts with a spicy black bean dip and chips. Tasty! For the appetizer I tried a cup of Cashew Soup which was a melange of delicious flavors and had Beef Stew with Yorkshire Pudding for the main course, it had a dark gravy that was delicious, but could have used a drop, or a cup of red wine or bourbon. There’s something special about this place! On a whim, I stopped in off the highway, passed by the usual fast food and found a gem! The black bean dip (not pictured because it was already gone) fish and chips along with raspberry potato salad was delightful. Sweet tea even was exceptional. Finally, the service was quick and friendly. Can’t wait to come back and I’m still sitting at the table.

We stopped here for the first time on a Thursday evening. The outside of the restaurant is unimpressive, however, the inside is quite nice. There are various seating options with a large room that would be good for a party, a smaller seating area with booths, a semi-enclosed area, and patio with some small English style booths. The service was very good. They served a complementary Black Bean and Tomato Dip with Chips that was sooo good! We had the Bruschetta, Apple Walnut & Brie Panini, and the small Fish and Chips. All were very good but the Bruschetta was exceptional. We noticed that they had their own Herb garden which added to the fresh taste. They also have a very good selection of bottled beers.

A really unique little British Pub style restaurant that hasn’t changed all that much since the 1st time I visited them. Years ago, they were surrounded by empty fields, and now they are surrounded by new hotels, gas stations, and a growing commercial area. While Payne’s has grown in size, their food is still based on British Pub food. My dinner partner had the Beef Stew and Yorkshire pudding followed by Rhubarb Crunch with ice cream for dessert. I had the Banger and Mash for dinner and Sticky Toffee with Cream for my meal. As always the wait staff were friendly and helpful. I will definitely reroute myself to Gas City Indiana the next time I am in the area.

Had the Fish n Chips for the Entrée. Recommend the medium portion fish which is plenty for one person. They suggested Malt Vinegar for the chips ( fries) . The fish was very delicious! Brushetta for Appetizer also very delicious. Chose Paynes potatoe salad drizzled with raspberry sauce for the side. Had unsweetened iced tea served in quart canning jar. While waiting for the meal they serve a sample of their black bean n chicken stock dip with tortilla chips. They also sell their Bean dip in couple sizes. I purchased the largest 22oz container. For dessert, chose a vanilla bean shake with cold expresso added topped with homemade whipped cream . Oh my so tasty !! We enjoyed our dining experience on their outside area chose umbrella table area. The area has a good vibe and comfy. Our waitress was very knowledgeable, friendly and funny which had a positive impact to our overall dining experience. We will definitely be revisiting Paynes more often to explore the other items on their menus. We recommend Paynes to everyone.

I’ve driven past signs for this restaurant for years but never stopped until just now. Amazing traditional British food, friendly people, and cozy atmosphere made this a great unexpected stop. I’ll be taking my whole family on our next trip up from Indianapolis to Michigan.

We stopped in on our way home from vacation. The staff was great, the food was amazing and we left completely stuffed! I’m not sure how anyone could ask for more.
