In an ever-changing world, it’s comforting to know some things never change, like Paul’s Drive In. We’ve been in business since the 1960s serving authentic smash burgers made with fresh, never frozen, beef. Come in and try our signature Big Boy burger with all the fixings. Other local favorites include our Italian pork steak or the tenderloin sandwiches. And of course, there are crispy french fries, onion rings, and tater tots, not to mention fried mushrooms to round out your meal. If you have any room left, we serve the best soft serve in the area. Enjoy a classic cone in vanilla, chocolate, or zebra, a shake or old-school malt, a cyclone, a soda float, or a banana split.

I grew up eating Paul’s. I moved to Overland Park, Kansas when I was a kid and would regularly visit my grandparents off Blue Ridge. Before I hit 435 W I stop by Paul’s for 1/2 double cheeseburger. It’s been a while since I’ve had a burger from Paul’s.

The quality wasn’t the same. PAULS was always consistent. Burger was very dry, fries weren’t golden & crispy.. I will still swear by PAULS being the best smash burger in Kansas City but I hope that was an off day. I’ll definitely be having it again soon. Hopefully it’ll be better.

I have been coming here for 30 years it continues to be one of my faves! I’ve never had any issues with service or quality of food whether inside or the drive thru. Love it!

I went there after reading a lot of hype about this place online. How great it was, best burgers in town, etc, etc.

It was okay. Nothing terrible, but nothing astoundingly great either.

The burger was servicable. If you order it online you can order it without seasoning. I didn’t ask for it without seasoning. I am not sure how it would taste without it because it really had no defining taste allegedly with it.

I also ordered the burger without pickles but still thought I tasted pickles on the burger. They didn’t put pickles on there, so I think they may have been diced up in the sauce they use. Not sure, unless some just got on my burger and I didn’t notice it. Not a fan of pickles, so either way, it ruined the burger for me.

The losers are are the fries and drink. The fries tasted like they were fried in old oil. Good fries are crisp on the outside, fluffy in the middle. Not these. They are just crips and really weren’t that great.

The soda also tasted watered down. I judge a place that cuts corners on the cheapest thing on their menu. Water down the soda, I wonder what other corners you’re cutting. And the soda was so unappealing because of it, I didn’t bother asking if they offered free refills, because even if they did, I don’t want one.

Good burger places are hard to find in Kansas City. I heard this was one of them. It may do in a pinch but it’s nothing I will be rushing back to.

We love stopping at Pauls for a quick burger meal. Our son really loves the burgers with the burger sauce on it. We recently were given the wrong bag with a kids meal in it instead of our full combo, which is a big difference in size but also price. We didn’t notice till we got home so since we don’t live far we really needed to get our money’s worth and go back. Went back and Cindy or Sydney (cant remember the ladies name) but she got us all fixed up and even made us fresh fries and everything for our order. They really are good people and if you treat them with respect they will return the favor just like in most places providing a service
Not the most inviting building but once your in, for the most part there are good, respectable employees

First time visiting here as I was passing by and it looked like a place to visit. I went inside to order takeout. I ordered the Jr Double Bacon Cheeseburger combo with Large Tots and a Barqs Cream Soda. The burger was very tasty, the bacon was great, and really hit the spot and left me satisfied. I wasn’t as big fan of the Tots, they were a little on the crunchy side for my tastes, but were OK for what they were. The restroom was a little rusty, but got the job done. If in the area again, I would definitely stop back in, and order the burger.

My favorite is the pork tenderloin with a cherry limeade but also the ice cream cones are ginormous. I love the fact that this restaurant has served the community for decades and is a locally owned business. I am happy they give customers a chance to buy “community meals” for those who cannot afford food.

The food was fairly good, pretty salty, but had some good flavor. The service was great, the people were super friendly and the food came out quickly. The tenderloin was good, not super big, but very salty. The burgers were good. Their sauce that came on the sandwiches was tasty. It’s a similar joint to Hi-Boy though I would recommend driving the extra 20 minutes to go to Hi-Boy.

I was in Kansas City on business and oh boy Disgusting food and Service !!
Counter lady was coughing up every five seconds and they were more concerned about closing the lobby than customer Service try to serve me a banana split with expired black banana, Tater tots were hard and stale. One of most disgusting hot dogs i ever eaten in my life!! Walmart in my area, serves Nathan’s hotdogs $1.50 each that taste 1000 times much better!!

Charged for a large fry got a regular fry. 17 dollars for a double cheese with no flavor all sauce on bottom but making it impossible to eat as the grease and sauce turned the patties into a slip and slide. Unfortunate as I heard this used to be a good establishment

This place was recommended by a more tenured KC citizen than myself, as they told me they have been coming here their entire life. I take those words seriously with burgers….
It’s not bad! Pretty good burger, though I did expect a bigger sandwich. I thought the onion rings were excellent, though I am not sure they are fully prepared on site. The fountain drink tasted a little flatter than one should expect.

I would go back for another try. It’s definitely better than most chain hamburgers, and more expensive. I’d be interested in how the rest of the menu tastes. It’s old school greasy, if you like that sort of food.
