Mashed potatoes were too much on the creamy/liquid side for me.
Garden salad was good but not special.
Meatloaf was excellent. Mac and cheese yummy!
We were so full at the end we passed on dessert.
You could get lost in their gift shop!
Paula Deen’s Kitchen is more than a restaurant—it’s a full-on Southern experience. From the moment I walked in, I was wrapped in warm, nostalgic charm. The general store vibe? Adorable. It felt like stepping into a cozy country dream, with shelves of goodies and that “y’all come back now” energy.
Now let’s talk about the food. I ordered the chicken and French toast—a playful twist on chicken and waffles—and Lord have mercy, it was divine. The chicken was crispy, juicy, and seasoned like a Southern grandma whispered secrets into the batter. The French toast? Thick, golden, and kissed with cinnamon and syrupy goodness. Together, they created a flavor explosion that had me closing my eyes and humming with every bite.
This dish didn’t just satisfy—it preached. Sweet, savory, soulful, and unforgettable. I’d drive hours just to taste it again.
Our sever was prompt in getting us more food as its all you can eat of the choices you make.
The time we arrived was not busy, but it took a long time to get our food. There were 8 of us.
The servings of proteins were very small compared to usual.
For example) 3 country fried steaks, 2 chick legs, 2 thighs and pot roast. We did not get the corn. We waited 20 minutes for that
A couple of us waited until second round to eat. We asked for refills as soon as the initial servings were delivered to our table. It took approx 30 minutes to get second round. Drink refills took too long.
As for the food it was good. Our only complaint is the gravy for the country fried steak was watered down.
Overall, service time was terrible for not being busy. The food was good aside from the gravy. We will visit again next time we are in town, but will be done if we have the same experience.
