PAUL’s success story dates back to its start as a humble bakery in northern France over 125 years ago. Enormous respect for tradition and use of the finest quality ingredients have made Paul what it is today – a very successful international brand, part of France’s culinary and cultural heritage, catering to the French way of life in its selection of bread, viennoiseries, pâtisseries, sandwiches, soups and salads, plus a selection of signature French dishes. The value of quality fresh produce is at the heart of its success.

The quality of this place has sadly gone downnnn significantly. I used to come with my mother because she loved the date croissants, and we used to order so much of them. Suddenly the quality has become awful. We’ve ordered them today, around 3 (happily thinking it would be tastey ) but we ended up eating just one (which hurt her stomach because there are SO many flies). When we asked to return the ones we didn’t eat they refused. That’s ok, but we’re definitely not coming back.

Paul Downtown Egypt boasts a sophisticated ambiance, with a black and white exterior that gives way to a rustic-chic interior. Polished wooden tables and chairs, neutral colors, and a black and white chequered floor transport you to a quaint Parisian cafe.

Food menu offers a vast array of delicious dishes, including French classics like onion soup served in a cut-out brown loaf, roasted almond chicken breast filled with camembert cheese, and a cheesy curried pasta dish. While prices may be slightly high, the portions are generous, and the food is expertly prepared.

The waiting staff are pleasant, polite, courteous and ensuring a smooth dining experience.

With its upscale ambiance, delicious food, and excellent service, Paul Downtown Egypt is a great choice for a night out or morning breakfast. While some reviews have been mixed, the consensus is that Paul is a reliable option for French-inspired cuisine in Cairo.

Food was horrible!! Not fresh, Not matching with menu pictures, waiters tried to convince me that everything is OK instead of apologizing for the poor quality they served. Burrata cheese was horrible!! I expect if I will pay 1250 EGP in a steak dish to get good quality, take the money you asked for and give me the good quality I expect, a very simple formula

Dear Paul Management,

I am writing to express my disappointment with the service I received during my visit today to your Downtown Katameya branch for breakfast.

From the beginning, the experience was below expectations. The waiters took a long time to come and take our order. When my cheese croissant arrived, it was very cold. I had to ask more than three times just to get water, and even then, only one glass was served although we were two people. We waited an unreasonably long time for the second glass.

Additionally, when the tea was served, the waiter placed it almost on top of my plate despite there being enough space on the table. Throughout the visit, three different waiters came and went, and the overall service was extremely slow and unorganized.

This was very disappointing, especially from a restaurant known for quality and hospitality. I hope you will look into this matter and ensure better service moving forward.

Thank you for your attention.

Perfection in a plate. This place is awesome. Everything is tasty and prepared well. I wish the tables were more spaced out. But other than that the place was great. The tables were clean and the staff was friendly. Can’t wait to go back again.

Had a quick flat white on a Friday morning to kill some time. I’ve had better coffee at other places. Waiters not so friendly, seemed overwhelmed, no smile.

Outdoor area not as you’d expect from a chain like Paul, dusty, too much wear and tear.

Very nice place for spoiling yourself for a lovely breakfast, lunch or dinner, coffee and dessert are great too. Amazing staff and fantastic chef. Definitely will go there again. I tried the “croque madame” very delicious but a bit dry for me, with honey cinnamon latte and mixed berries tart which was the happy ending for me lol.

We absolutely loved our experience at Paul in the Open Air Mall. From the moment we walked in, the cozy yet elegant French-inspired ambiance set the perfect mood for a relaxed meal. The menu had a great variety of options beyond the typical dishes you’d expect, which made our choices even more exciting.

We ended up ordering the steak breakfast, which was rich and deeply flavorful, the omelette was so delicate and fluffy.

Some dishes did feel a bit on the pricey side for the portion size, but the quality and taste made up for it. The ingredients felt fresh, and everything was well-prepared with attention to detail. The service was also warm and attentive, making the entire experience even more enjoyable.

If you’re looking for an authentic French café-style meal with fresh pastries and a lovely atmosphere, Paul is definitely worth a visit!
