Patti’s La Cucina feels like a warm hug from White Oak. The food tastes like someone’s proud Italian grandma is in the kitchen — big portions, simple comfort, and absolutely made with love. The staff treat you like they’ve known you forever, and there’s a real sense of neighborhood history in every visit. My family has been ordering from Veltrs for 44 years. When they had 2 large pizzas for 12.99. I introduced my husband to Vetre”s. He told people how great the pizza was all the time. This has been our go to place for the last 20 years. When it became Patti’s the pizza was pretty much the same. It was overly salty at times. They changed the fries. That was disappointing. Still one of my top choices. It’s been really bad the last few months.
Yesterday we placed a pickup order.
The pizza was cold and under cooked. I’m pretty sure the hunks of green pepper was added after the pizza was cooked ish. 3rd pizza we’ve had that was under cooked. We wanted zucchini planks and for the 2nd time they were out of them. So instead we ordered large French fries. She said they only have one size. I want to say there were maybe 20 fries in the container. The amount of salt on the fries was so bad I had to wipe them off. I feel like they pump food out with no regard for quality. I ended up with a 36 dollar stomache. We probaly wont be ordering again. ☹️

The dough, sauce & cheese combination is my favorite & anytime I’m in the mood for a hoagie or burger, they always exceed expectations!

I am 47 and staying with friends in White Oak for the past month for the holidays. Tonight I ordered a dozen mild chicken wings and they were so incredible that I called the shop to thank the cook and the owners. I have lived in almost every area of Pittsburgh over the last 25 years and these wings were the best I have ever had. Above Wing Stop, above Joe & Pies, above every other shop I ever ordered from. 200% yes on ordering wings here and the pizza was also absolutely amazing and an equal competitor to any other favorites you may have. Amazing food and excellent customer service.

This was our first time eating here since being under new ownership. We were warmly greeted when we entered. The server behind the counter patiently let us review the menu, answering our questions. She kindly took our order. We helped ourselves to fountain drinks in an extremely clean dining area. As we waited for our food, the manager, Tony, introduced himself and gave us some of his homemade chicken salad to try! He was extremely kind, generous and welcoming! Not to mention, the chicken salad was banging! We ended up buying a pint to take home with us. Chad brought us our food with a big smile on his face. He was kind, welcoming and radiated joint positivity! We ordered an Italian sub and pepperoni and sausage pizza. The Italian sub was delicious. Fresh meats and bread. The pizza was one of the best I’ve had! Fresh cheese, little pepperoni’s, good pizza sauce and amazing dough! I am so glad we found this gem! We will definitely be back!!

Pizza was really good. Ordered the hot cheese balls which were good as well but didn’t get very many with the order. My wife didn’t like the Buffalo Chicken sandwich but my son did. ♂️. Service was good which is hard to find these days. This was a take out order but the atmosphere looked inviting.

First time ordering from here. Very disappointed! Had a meatball hoagie, not toasted was very soggy and barely warm. Had a side salad asked for onions on salad, the lettuce looked to be days old-wilted and no onions. Also got the stuffed banana peppers, they were ok but nothing to brag about. I don’t mind paying for food if it is good, but $40.00 for such a crappy meal. Will never order from there again!

I’ve been ordering here for years, and the food is always but today the food just wasn’t it! The pizza and Italian hoagie were cold and the cheese fries also! The cheese was clumpy, that’s how cold the fries were. Not only that, I ordered the 18” pizza and these were the slices I got!!! Think I’ll have to find a new pizza spot.this was $60 worth of food.
