Patsy’s Tavern pizza review in Paterson, NJ – Facebook

Go for the regular food and get a pie. Can’t compare bar pies to other pizza places. 6mo.

Delicious pizza, unique in its pan shaped crust, which is a highlight. A magnetic bar. Excellent service. A non functioning phone booth. May this place never change.

Thank you for taking such good care of our group today.

Old school Italian restaurant. Uncomfortable seats, saw someone bring a pillow. Food came out quick and the waitress was funny! CASH only. Rice ball, mozzarella sticks and the pizza

The pizza here is great. Me and my friend ordered a garlic meatball pizza with drinks. Heads up, the restaurant is CASH ONLY, and there is an atm inside.

Make a Reservation and Carry Cash!! We didn’t have a reservation but fortunately the host was able to seat us in a booth!
The place has an old timey charm to it and the food was simple yet excellent!
We had the broccoli rabe Appetizer, Pizza with mushrooms and garlic(great sauce and really cool thin-thick crust!) and the Tartufo for dessert. Served by a very sweet lady Eileen, we loved the whole experience. Will be back for more pizza and vibes

Historic building since 1931, and honestly looks like it hasn’t been renovated since then.

In NJ-tradition, they serve pan-baked bar pies, but this wouldn’t make my top ten.

Patches was rated a year or two ago… We took the time and drove there after making an appointment.
It wasn’t late it was 7:00 7:30.

We were seated the place was not full. We ordered appetizers and then proceeded to order a pizza which they’re known for and they were rated for a great pizza.

Our way to sleeves to come back about 5 or 7 minutes later and tells us they’re out of pizza.

Now you’re known for pizza everybody comes for pizza you are rated for pizza and that’s why you had a crazy waiting list every night.
It was a Tuesday or Thursday
It was a reasonable time 7 or 7:30.

You know everybody comes for pizza how could you be out of pizza dough… At 7 or 7:30 in the evening.

We ate our appetizers and left.

I mentioned it the other night and my friend said okay let’s try it so he called and we made an appointment for about an hour later at 8:00 p.m..

We go we ordered appetizers three of them for two of us and we placed an order for a main course and a second main course and a pizza. We waited over an hour and a half for the pizza to come. My friend is heavy at about 260 I’m about 290.

We go for pizza a few nights a week.
We know Pizza.

Honestly I would never go back there for a pizza again there was nothing about it that was good the dough was stiff… It had a lip on the edge it was hard it was crunchy but not in a good way.

We waited an hour and a half for the pizza to come and we and we sat outside in the first table from the kitchen.

The waitress was good with the exception that she didn’t get them to bring our pizza within an hour and a half which is Ludacris.
The pie in my opinion was horrible I would never go back again.
It’s an old-time Italian restaurant probably about 80 to 100 years old I think 1930 was what I saw on something posted on the wall. The rest of the food was okay. My partner didn’t like the salad. I didn’t care for the clams either don’t waste your time or money or go

Absolute Jersey icon and for great reason. The pizza would be my “electric chair” dish, but all their Italian Tavern fare is next level. Sausage pie, Sausage and Broccoli Rabe App, and Mussels are must tries. 2nd to none old school atmosphere with a staff with Personality that matches.

4/25/2025 $18.00 EIGHTEEN DOLLARS FOR A FOURTEEN INCH LARGE PIE. Pure waste of money. Under carriage hard like eating hard crust in every bite. Extremely small slices. Size of a coke can. Pizza cooked in metal dish pans not on bricks. Get a hard unpleasant pizza to eat. Slices stand straight out so hard. Can’t taste cheese overcooked. Don’t try this place just go to your favorite place. This second try and worst than first time and grossly over priced 18 dollars for 14 inch pie. Look at cheese n pizza like overcooked frozen pizza. NOTHING APPETIZING AT ALL

This place lives up to the hype. Such a cool old school atmosphere and pizza is truly amazing, in my opinion it’s the best i’ve ever had. The staff at the restaurant are awesome and kept us laughing. We also bought some sweatshirts cause were proud something like this exists in our hometown. The owner even took our names down and gave us 10% discounts every Monday! Lol
