I was a huge fan of Voltacos and certainly sad that it closed. I loved their Italian subs, along with my entire family. When Petroni’s took over I was hoping they would use Voltacos recipes on the subs. Last year, we all were very disappointed in the subs. Hardly any meat ( also too thinly sliced and certainly not how Voltacos made their subs
This year is another story! Excellent subs, packed with meat and just as good as Voltacos, or better. We are all so happy to join the new family of Patroni’s and enjoy their food this year. Keep up the good work, Petroni family!!!. The subs were just as good or better than Voltacos!!!

Just finished my first cheesesteak from Patroni’s and it was an out of body experience… my mother in law who knows Ocean City from way back hyped it hard to me ahead of time, and I was certain it would disappoint, but it did Not. Quite the contrary. Absolutely delicious. Will be back to try other delights asap!

If you’re looking for top-notch takeout in Ocean City, look no further than Patroni’s. This local gem offers an incredible variety of subs, pasta, and sandwiches that will satisfy any craving. On our recent visit, we sampled a range of their offerings, and every bite was a delight.
The cheesesteaks were nothing short of perfection. Each sandwich was packed with tender, flavorful steak and just the right amount of melted cheese, all nestled in a fresh, soft roll. It’s clear why this is a favorite among locals and visitors alike.
The tuna salad sub was another hit. The tuna was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and generously portioned. Combined with crisp lettuce and ripe tomatoes, it made for a refreshing and satisfying meal.
One of the standout items was the Roma chicken cutlet sandwich. The chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and topped with a delicious blend of Sharp Provolone, Roasted Peppers or Sun Dried Tomatoes, Basil Pesto. It’s a must-try for anyone visiting Patroni’s.
Finally, the ravioli was a comforting and flavorful dish that felt like a homemade meal. The pasta was tender, and the filling was rich and satisfying.
Patroni’s is a must-visit if you’re in Ocean City and craving quality, delicious takeout. With friendly service and a menu full of crowd-pleasers, it’s a spot you’ll want to return to again and again.

Patroni’s replaced the old OCNJ cheesesteak legend, Voltacos, which closed in 2022. I ordered at the counter around 12:30 on a summer Tuesday. There was a steady stream of customers while I waited outside, but they had my order ready in ~5 minutes. Very friendly service and the cheesesteak and Italian hoagie were 100% on par with Voltacos. Awesome cheesesteak!

Call me a tourist, fine. I expect to make memories to cherish in these trips. It has me very disappointed to report the single purchase recommend to me by the staff. I realize now 3 days into a weeklong vacation that Ocean City is a straight up tourist trap. The sandwich I ordered was just incredibly overpriced. I spent 19 dollars on a 9″ cold sub take out. Inland, this kind of coin can feed three in a 20″ super hogie. My expectations were very high for the Godfather sub. Lots of rare, aged, special everything and long hots etc..
Who am I to complain, the reviewer.
The brioche roll had no flavor and was thin as a pita. There simply wasnt enough cheese to tame the meat and hots flavors. The sliced onions were nearly missing entirely and would have helped a lot. Did I finish it, yes. It was good enough.
That is my memory. The take away, it was good enough to eat. Forgettable. This was described to me by staff as a local favorite.
Can I fault the entire menu, of course not.
I am just giving you an honest review of their signature sandwich. What is my right to say…..
I was born and raised in Philadelphia and grew up on the best Italian food in the country. Every neighborhood had their best corner shop. Excellent portions and incredible memorable flavors. These are the standards by which I review and rate these items. I have over 50 years of memories that I cherish. These are honest reviews.

So I had to try this place out since it took over the formal Voltaco’s spot. This review is based on their Italian hoagie/sub. To me, Voltaco’s set the bar for the Italian sub. I have yet to find a rival.. till now. Let me preface this review with the fact I went twice. First visit would have scored 4 stars. On that visit, we ordered a whole sub. The taste was close, but it was quite smaller, circumference wise, than Voltaco’s. They also added vinegar which wasn’t a bad thing, but wanted to taste it without that. Also, one half of the sub was light on onions while the other one had more. We ordered another Italian terry days later… here’s where the 5 stars comes from! We ordered this one with oil only, no vinegar and extra onions…bingo! It was like having Voltaco’s again plus this one was bigger circumference wise like Voltaco’s! Pictured first is the second sub. The last Pic was the first one we received so you can see the difference size wise.

Patronis, formerly known as Voltacos, is a fantastic takeout spot specializing in hoagies, cheesesteaks, and Italian dinners. We recently tried the cheesesteak and tuna hoagie, and both were delicious. The cheesesteak was perfectly cooked and flavorful, while the tuna hoagie was fresh and satisfying. Our only issue was the wait time. When we arrived we paid for our food and it wasn’t quite ready, so we stepped aside and waited for our food. When the food was finished it was placed on the counter in the back and no one notified the cashier that it was finished. They just need to dial in their communication and this will be a 5 ⭐️. Despite that, the quality of the food makes it worth a visit. Overall, a solid 4-star experience!

I asked for ham and turkey but got no ham. Asked for no tomatoes but got 4 big ones. I asked for mustard and they were surprised by that. Also I didn’t find the bread to be fresh tasting. I think this place gets thrown off when you don’t order direct from the menu. The sandwich was okay but not worth $15.99!! Too expensive for a 9 inch sandwich! Thought I’d get something more special than Wawa but didn’t happen. Oh well. Friendly service though!!

Yesterday, we ordered dinner from Patroni’s. The order was on time for our pick up, compliments to the staff. I had the 957 Sub with chicken cutlet and it was absolutely delicious. I could only eat half because my eyes were bigger than my stomach! I am so looking forward to eating the other half tonight – fresh roll, chicken cooked to perfection, pesto yum! Thank you Patroni’s. We will definitely return!
