The ambiance is relaxing and the decorations inside are super beautiful.
Henry was our server today. He is very attentive and welcoming! He gave us delicious recommendations to try as well as explained the dishes to us. We ordered the chicharon bulaklak, crispy pata, palabok, and tortang talong and for drinks/dessert we ordered sago at gulaman and halo halo. Every single thing we ordered was DELICIOUS! The portions are quite large and the sauces are generous.
I have lived in Houston for 2.5 years now and haven’t found a Filipino restaurant that I loved until now! I will definitely be back again soon!
Cons: not much seating, a bit expensive
It’s hard to find good Filipino restaurants in the Greater Houston area, so I’m glad this is one of them. I’ve eaten here a couple of times and find that all their savory food is quite good. Their sizzling sisig bangus is a personal favorite of mine. Their juices are very satisfying, particularly the calamansi–it tastes like they freshly squeezed it! It’s also nice that they serve more than just halo halo for dessert (though their halo halo is really satisfying in the summer); I probably shouldn’t have ordered something super icy like the saging con hielo in winter , but the flavor is sooo good! Service is always outstanding too–very kind, attentive, and helpful. If you like good Filipino, this is the spot for you!
Also the restrooms were very clean
If you’re craving authentic Filipino food in Houston, Patis & Toyo is a must-visit. I recently had the pleasure of dining there with friends, and it felt like a warm hug from the Philippines. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was inviting, modern Filipiniana decor, friendly staff, and the comforting aroma of garlic rice and sizzling sisig in the air.
We went all-in and booked their Kamayan Boodle Fight, and wow, what an experience! The table was lined with banana leaves and beautifully arranged with grilled pork belly, BBQ skewers, lumpia, seafood, vegetables, and rice. No utensils—just hands, laughter, and shared stories. It was messy, fun, and absolutely delicious. The Kare-Kare was rich and nutty, the Sinigang was perfectly sour, and the Halo-Halo dessert was the cherry on top.
The staff made us feel like family, checking in often and offering great recommendations. It’s clear they take pride in what they do. Whether you’re Filipino or just curious about the cuisine, Patis & Toyo delivers a genuine, flavorful experience that’s perfect for groups, celebrations, or just a weekend treat.
Highly recommend the boodle fight, it’s not just a meal, it’s a memory.
Been coming for a while and can’t believe this place is not packed at all.
We’ve ordered Lumpian Shanghai, Pancit Sotanghon and the BBQ Skewer and every plate has been amazing time and time again.
Very friendly staff and delicious complementary shrimp chips for the table.
Easy a 10/10
Update 12/2025:
Finally came back to Houston to try this place one more time.
We tried the usual and it was amazing as always, but we also tried the Milo Chocolate Cake and the Creme Brûlée Taro and it was amazing.
I highly recommend the Milo Chocolate Cake, is very tasty but I took half of it home cause the portion was too generous and its a sweet dessert to have all in one sitting. Amazing dessert the next day with a cup of coffee
We ordered:
– Calamari: 9/10
– Dinakdakan: 8/10
– Beef Kare-Kare: 10/10
– Flaming Cassava: 9/10
The ambiance was upscale, and the food was fantastic. We will back for sure.
