It’s a Cajun twist, you can get the flavor w/o all the hot spice. Absolutely delicious! My hats off to their Chef.
I’m giving 4 stars only because the bathroom area and a few small atmosphere details could use a little attention. With those updates, this restaurant could easily reach its full potential because everything else was exceptional.
We ordered the chicken and fish with a variety of sides. The sides were actually quite good — the mac and cheese had a nice cheese pull and was flavorful, the candied yams were sweet and tender, the fries were crispy (similar to beer-battered fries), and the dirty rice was well seasoned. Unfortunately, the chicken was a major disappointment. It tasted and visually looked like it had been cooked in dirty grease and did not resemble the fresh, appealing chicken advertised on their social media.
When I brought it to our server’s attention, she responded, “That’s just how it’s cooked today,” which I found unacceptable. The alcoholic beverages were also watered down and lacked flavor.
Overall, the sides were the highlight of the meal, but the service, the chicken quality, and the drinks left much to be desired. I doubt I would return.
Music was very good! Bathroom was clean. Restaurant was clean. Chicken and waffles was ok (per my son and others at the table).
Cons:
Made a large reservation for 20 and they had to pull the tables together when we got there. No biggie but you would think that had been done since the rsvp was done before hand.
Waitress withheld important information. For example, they have mimosas for the brunch special bottomless mimosas $15 and single mimosas for $4, I told her I wanted to order 2 of the mimosas for $4 because 2 is my limit as I am driving, and she said that I might as well get the one for unlimited, because the $4, if you add flavor turns into $9. The problem is she was not telling people this at the whole table and its not on the menu, so people was ordering it , not knowing because they thought it was the special. Also these are no iron horse mimosas. You need the bottomless to get the drop of champagne added. They were very weak.
The food. I ordered the catfish and grits. I asked, is this truly catfish and not basa or swai. She said yes. Then I asked does the grits have cheese. She said yes. It comes with a cheese sauce on top. When it came out it was over saturated with this “Cajun sauce” that they definitely didn’t cook the flour all the way down. Taste like a ravioli sauce. It was NOT a cheese sauce. The fish was cooked perfect. However when I bit into it. Definitely was NOT catfish. Catfish is meaty and flaky with distinct taste. We asked are you sure this is cat. She said yes she personally asked because they get asked this all the time. I told her I didn’t want it. 7 plates went back. I told her I would just like a waffle by itself. When the ticket came it didn’t add up and she bypassed me getting my receipt. I said this not adding up how much was just the waffle? She says, oh I had to charge you for the chicken and waffles because we dont just sell waffles. I asked why wasn’t I told that! Please bring the chicken I paid for even though I cant have it since I cant eat chicken at this time but I can give it to my son. This should have been disclosed like the mimosas. I love tipping but tipping based on service and this did not deserve the mandatory 20% they charge. I will not be back unless major changes are made. Very disappointing
This would be a place to come with your friends or significant for a night of dancing and drinks. The vibe is chill but also looks like a fun place to come dressed up and party.
