Poped in on a mid Sunday afternoon. I ordered the smoked brisket and sausage plate with Mac and cheese and the baked beans. It comes with sweet corn bread. I just moved from Southern Illinois near St. Louis Missouri, and you talk about making me feel like I was home again. I smiled bigger with ever bite I took. It looks like I just missed the Sunday lunch rush so it was pretty empty which made it easier for me to tell the wait staff and cook how happy I was that I found this place. I highly recommend this place. I know I’ll be back and I live nearly 3 hours away in Beaverton Oregon now.

Last week, for the first time, Ricky (my Kodiak spirit guide) and I took on the Pat-E-Mac’s challenge, and Pat (owner and head chef) won! Ricky and I fell victim to Pat’s genius for ELEVATED BBQ on the central Oregon coast. Formerly an extremely successful, bright-red food truck… Pat’s masterful orchestration of smoked meats and sides is a symphonic FLAVOR MASTERPIECE!!!

One would assume this is typical BBQ; however, do not make that mistake with Pat-E-Mac’s! He puts the soul in his food to live on independently from its construction. This food speaks for itself! And so, he now has a new sit-down restaurant in Newport! Success is its own reward! Come taste his success for yourself! This is superlative BBQ!

One thing I wish to state… This brick-and-mortar restaurant (located on the northwest corner of the SeaTowne shopping center—east side of the 101 in Newport) has been painstakingly designed with each and every minute detail carefully arranged with an optimal fine dining BBQ experience in mind. Whether you are working construction and want to pop in quick for a half rack of KILLER ribs and a few sides, or the MOST AMAZING brisket you will ever try. Come in and witness for yourself how Pat builds his tapestry of BBQ delights… You won’t be disappointed!

This is the BEST BBQ I have ever crammed into my mindless yammering pie hole! Come and sit in with Pat and his fantastic coworkers. Enjoy the Pat-E-Mac’s experience while watching sports playing on the big screen as well. You will have a completely wonderful and immersive experience in this restaurant! Each sumptuous morsel of food and every corner, nook, and cranny of this restaurant is a contemplative study in how to elevate the art of BBQ so that the seemingly simple process of cooking meat with smoke shines through… delivering your senses to BBQ Nirvana!

The sturdy takeaway containers, tough-to-tear bags, sauce containers, plush and ample napkins, and even the unassuming wet wipes provide a top-flight experience. Having had excellent BBQ all over the US, most of my experiences have been greeted with a roll of paper towels and cheap novelties… but this is NOT the case with Pat-E-Mac’s! Everything is of the highest quality and freshness and won’t break your bank! Pat, his lovely wife, and their staff are definitely forward-thinking with quality. You get your money’s worth here and then some! During these days of rising inflation, I strongly feel you get more for your dollar here.

Pat has his pass-through window standing proudly, front and center, as you wait for the succulent and luxurious order. Don’t let Pat’s imposing stature fool you. He is completely approachable while working his masterful magic. The man is a super great guy who obviously cherishes his engagement with clientele. He puts his heart, soul, and magnificent skill set into everything he does! You WILL learn his secret technique of bringing these meats to the pinnacle of perfection: smoking them low and slow—THAT is the tempo.

Internet people, I cannot oversell this jewel of Newport! Again, I dare you to pay Pat and his elite crew a visit! The only negative aspect of your patronage you may suffer will be the sensation of being overly stuffed after your meal. Especially if you are like me. I suffered badly, but I couldn’t stop myself! Ricky and I lost all composure and viciously consumed virtually everything within sight! My grandfather always said, “If you don’t get hurt every now and then, you just ain’t playing right!” If you aren’t careful, Pat will absolutely teach you a lesson in gluttony. Will I repeat my savage feasting with Pat-E-Mac’s??? HELL YES!!! Just try to stop me!

Absolutely love Pat E Macs. I always hunt them down at events during the summer. We had them cater for mine and my niece’s birthday.
While visiting Newport for Valentine’s I discovered the Valentine’s meal Deal. I insisted on lunch, I knew they would be sold out by dinner. EVERYTHING is always so tender and juicy. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, but my go to is the brisket or pulled pork, BBQ beans, collards and a corn muffin. And don’t forget the Oregon Twinky. Obsessed!! One of the best versions of a Jalapeno popper I’ve had. Smokey goodness wrapped in thick wonderful bacon.

Watched the amazing team crank out the orders never skipping a beat with smiles from front of the house to the back. There was such a flow and smoothness.

Can’t wait for the next event I see them at or my next visit to Newport

Went there for a Super Bowl Party with my wife. By far the best barbecue I’ve had since I moved to Oregon just over a year ago! The ribs were fall off the bone, tender, the cornbread was very moist. The pulled pork was juicy and don’t get me started on the baked beans… DAMN!! The staff was very friendly, very welcoming, and had a great sense of humor. Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for quality barbecue that is very reasonably priced.

Brisket sandwich was awesome, sausage was awesome, Mac and cheese awesome. Service was quick and pleasant. I’ve been here twice so far. Once when it first opened and again today. It has never let me down. Great job!

Just excellent food. The brisket is the best I’ve had in decades. The pulled pork was cooked perfectly.. most places it’s really dry.. not here. I tried a chicken quarter another time and the seasoning and taste were fantastic combo. Sides were great as well. I hardly ever eat all the mac and cheese at other places, bu I chopped it all down here.. really tasty. Corn on the cob was good as well.
