I stopped in here this morning after walking around the Farmers Market. What a sweet little bakery with friendly staff. I purchased a beautiful fruit and cheese danish that was so delicious. I also got a plain croissant and two little egg custards. There are so many wonderful things to choose from and I love this little bakery. The service was wonderful and a short wait to be served.

Delicious baked goods and treats! The service is amazing and everything is deliciously fresh and made from scratch. Definitely recommend going around opening because they tend to sell out quick! The quality and care is extremely apparent in every bite. I also really love that they offer breads and savory options, not just sweets. The icing for the cupcakes is Swiss meringue buttercream (my favorite) it’s silky and buttery and not too sweet! The croissants are some of the best I’ve ever had in terms of flavor and texture.

I am a visitor in Swarthmore and I found this gem while searching the web for a good croissant! I showed up at around noon and unfortunately they were out of the classic croissant, so I got a cardamom puff (I think that’s what it was called) and chocolate chip scone.
The cardamom puff was out of this world! It has beautiful layers of buttery, crisp bread with crunchy cinnamon sugar on the outside and soft, stretchy dough on the inside. In every bite you get to enjoy the perfect balance of butter, salt, sugar, and cinnamon sugar with a hint of cardamom. The texture is exactly what I was looking for: crisp on the outside, light, fluffy and stretchy inside. The flavors and texture melt together in blissful harmony. The cardamom is noticeable, not overpowering.
I also got a chocolate chip scone which was nothing to write home about. But the cardamom muffin certainly made up for it in its beautiful texture and presentation and unique, surprising flavor profile, so I still give the food a 5/5. I hope that I get to return one day to try the classic croissant and some other baked goods!

This place is wonderful. A friend and I were visiting Swarthmore and she bought a turnover, danish, scone and apple pie bar as a gift. Call it a habit forming starter pack. The fruit fillings are all much more nuanced in their flavor that what you might except from a Whole Foods or even other area bakeries. Looking forward to going back for a baguette and cream puffs and something with almonds. Anyways, drop by and enjoy a real treat.

New location, same review. Everything was fantastic and I can’t wait to try the assortment of new baked and lunch options. The Portuguese tart today was perfect.
Old Review: A little pastry paradise in Swarthmore. Everything we had here was delicious. Our only regret was not showing up earlier to get to try some of the customer favorites. For sure will be coming back asap.

I usually like their baked food fine, but this morning I ordered a sausage croissant and honestly, I can’t tell if it’s cooked or raw and the pasty part was gummy and moist (the parts in contact with the sausage). It was really gross and made my stomach flip so I won’t be eating it ):

I come to this bakery often and have always enjoyed the selection, particularly the ham and cheese croissants, the chocolate cream filled beignets and the cinnamon rolls. But what’s even more amazing is the buche de Noel (Yule log) at Christmas time; my guests wholeheartedly agreed saying it was a masterpiece of a dessert on Christmas.

A treat from here feels like a visit to grandma’s kitchen, just pure joy in your belly. I love that he mixes it up with international pastries like Portugese pasteis de nata,
British pasties, and other treats that are hard to find locally. Just bring cash to avoid the 3% credit card fee.

The brownies and cupcakes were a bit on the smaller side, especially considering the price. I wasn’t a fan of the 3% merchant fee charged for credit cards. It’s a bit unfair to penalize customers who don’t want to pay the higher 4% fee for taking credit cards. Fortunately, I always carry cash for these situations. They handle the fee quite smoothly during the transaction. I didn’t notice this fee posted anywhere in the store. The apple turnover and blueberry scone tasted like they had been made a few days prior. The brownie was more like a chocolate candy bar than anything else. The key lime cheesecake had a strong aftertaste. Five stars might be a bit excessive. It’s more like small-town overhype at best. I wonder if people’s taste buds are quite low to give them a five-star rating. Five star ratings are earned not just given.

I’d gotten a random advertisement for this bakery and had planned on checking it out. I was near by and punched the address in and when I pulled up out front of a regular house I was confused. Until I saw a sign in the grass advertising a bakery and to make my way down the drive way. As I approached slowly, not sure if I was trespassing. I saw 3 people sitting in one of the most beautiful backyards I’ve ever seen, drinking coffee. One was the owner in an apron and he immediately got up and walked into the garage which had been beautifully transformed into a small kitchen/store front. The owner seems very passionate about what he was doing and you can tell in the food. The menu for the day didn’t have anything specifically I really wanted, but got like 4 separate things. Cookies, muffin, blueberry bar, and a cupcake for my wife. I’ve just now tried all of them and every single one was insanely delicious in its own right. 10/10 for quality of food and how nice and different the business was. Will 100% be going back in the next few days to try the cinnamon buns.
