My favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Chinatown, and a great place to grab some Vietnamese-American food. I believe it’s the oldest Vietnamese restaurant in at least Chinatown NYC, if not all of NYC that still exists. The food is tasty, consistent, and affordable. The staff are fine and the place is always clean and smells amazing. I’m a huge fan of Pho so this place helps satisfy that itch whenever I’m in the area.

I’ve been coming here over the past 5 years and all I can say is that this is one of the few really good mom and pop Vietnamese restaurants in Chinatown.
The owner and staff are all so friendly, warm and lovely. The atmosphere is gentle and warm.
Last but not least the food is fantastic. I usually get the satay beef Pho but today ended up getting a beef tomato soup that was just as amazing :). The photo doesn’t do it justice as I am already halfway through my meal… 10/10 recommend on a cold weather day as their soups are hearty and healthy, and 10/10 on a hot day as well because their vermicelli plates are perfect for a summer refresher. I’ll be back soon ~

I stopped in for a quick dinner after work and had a lovely meal! The basic beef pho was very nice and I took half home – the portion was very generous, especially for the price. It’s a great deal considering the typical cost of food in the area. The service was attentive and the man and woman that were working there were very kind. I also enjoyed the atmosphere!

this is a very traditional Vietnamese restaurant, with a menu not just pho and bann Mi, but more diverse options from northern, central and southern vietnam. they also serve traditional vietnamese coffee is a must try.
The restaurant is very traditional, the oldest viet restaurant in NYC. the staff there speaks Vietnamese. we got seated right away during lunch time on the weekend, it was not busy at all. service is fast
i had the bún bò huế which is a central Vietnam dish with spicy, salty, and savory flavors. it comes with thick and round vermicelli noodle, loaded with flavor. Make sure to try their grill pork chop, is well marinated with lemongrass and sweetness to it.

This place is fire!!!!!
The food is awesome. We had Oxtail Pho and a barn mi sandwich. The food was delicious

The place is a little hole in the wall with communal seating when it gets crowded

The service is very good and it looks like they’ve been there really long time

If you’re in The area, try it. It’s on the Side St., Baxter and well worth the trip.

An unsung gem in Chinatown/courthouse: the oldest Viet restaurant on Baxter St. with the only female broth maker. The owner/staff remain conscientious and service oriented. The renovated imterior incl the sweet restroom is a testament to how far they have come from their original bare bones interior. I always get the grilled pork chop rice. The broth is the least sweet of all the ny options and I would order their pho if I hadnt been illegally locked out of 117mottstreet by David Au since August 20, 2020.

I don’t usually post reviews, but this hidden gem was too empty during Saturday lunch. I really hope that they can stay around for longer. Ordered 3 things,
1. Kinda a pho but those are glass noodles. The soup is the best pho soup I’ve ever had. It’s really fresh and the owner is very generous with their ingredients. You might want to skip the pork liver if you’re not a big fan of internal organs. But it’s a 5/5 to me
2. It’s a seafood crepe. They prob made it with coconut in the crepe which gives it a unique flavor in the crepe. Never had it anywhere else. 5/5 again
3. Claypot rice. 4/5. Unique flavor with a bit sweet. Very generous with all the ingredients as well.

The rice noodles bowl is ok, as the shrimps and shrimp tools taste so so. The stir fry hollow veggie tastes ok. Some veggies look darker and less fresh. The food and service are ok but they asked for at least 16% tips on the receipt.
