My dad and I drive all the way to from Deptford to get tamales and sweet bread here. It’s hard to find good Mexican food on the east coast but this place is good. The people who work there are very friendly and speak English and Spanish. My only issues with this place is that they’re filled pastries aren’t labeled. So you get home thinking you have apple turnover and it’s some weird custard instead. And their fruit-filled pastries have almost no fruit in them.

TOP NOTCH Tres leches. Delicious and beautiful cakes. Note— this place is cash only. I parked at the Dollar store next door and it’s a very short walk to this hidden gem.

Hole in the wall place..real Mexican bakery. Cash only* I didn’t know this when I first went there! I would recommend going with a friend who speaks Spanish because they’re not really fluent in English as expected. Breads and cakes are made fresh. It’s good! You won’t be disappointed

This is my all-time favorite bakery. The pastries are out of this world!!! The bread is fresh and delicious. The tamales are the real deal!! Everything is delicious. The people are very nice and patient with my terrible Spanish. Will go back again and again.

Rude lady’s. I went in there to see if they can exchange me something i bought from there cause it tasted nasty and the lady ate some to taste it. And she didn’t wash her hands. And i asked if she touched and said no and laughed. And she didn’t want to exchange it because it tasted good to her. And i didn’t get my money back. So I’m stuck with nasty food. Bakery taste nasty and lots of flies around the bread. And they overcharge for little things. And if you don’t speak Spanish you won’t get respect.

Literally I am disappointed and disgusted. Yesterday when my parents went to get some pastries from this place, they brought home some of the pastries. Once they came home we were all eating some of the bread and right before I took a bite there was an actual fly inside my bread. I was absolutely disgusted. Especially when you enter this place, there are flies all over the place, no matter where you are, they’re flies around you. There’s not even some type of cover on them, if this place want to sell their products and food here they should start by making sure that the food are cover with something so no flies could land on it. Sometimes the flies are on the pastries/bread and I’m not sure if the owner or the workers do anything about it. Also the price is utterly ridiculous, it’s pretty expensive to buy some things here. If this place want a better review from others they should start cleaning and maybe start making sure that everything they sell, should be safe to be eaten or safe to buy at least.

Firstly, to address other reviews on here, I’m a white person and I was not discriminated against in any way. The cashier spoke English. The donut was pretty okay, not incredible, however the prices were super cheap so I’m not complaining

These pastries are soooo good and fresh, self serve which is pretty cool. Also, the lady at the register must’ve assumed I was Hispanic and told me my told was 3.75 in Spanish but I thought I heard her say 13 so I handed her $15 but she handed me my money back and didn’t allow me to overpay. Very honest. Only bad thing is a homeless guy outside holding the door for people and asking them for money.
