If you’re in Door County, do yourself a favor and have dinner at Pasta Vino!
Clean welcoming atmosphere away from the busy business district of Sister Bay boasts a menu with great apps, entrees and a fine wine & spirits list.
Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and our server Bugs/Bugz who was down-to-earth friendly did an outstanding job tending to our needs.
After we were done eating, my wife & I agreed we’ll come back again when visiting the county. Definitely one of the best fine dining options in Door County and I hope for continued success & prosperity for the owner(s).
We were welcomed by a fun and engaging crew and quicky introduced to our waitress “Bugs”. She is a lovely young lady with an equally lovely spirit that knows her way around the kitchen. Her passion for the food shines through!
We started off with the Italian pale lager Peroni. I don’t often drink Italian beer, but when I do it’s Peroni! Served appropriately chilled in accommodating pilsner. Others would follow. At Bug’s recommendation we also tried the Soave wine. Soave is a dry white Italian wine from the Veneto region in northeast Italy, principally around the city of Verona. It was wonderful! I wish we would have got the info on the winery. They did not skimp on the pour, and I noticed the other guests benedited from very nice pours as well. A heavy hand on the wine bottle is always appreciated! Fresh, warm bread was delivered with the drinks. The obligatory “Italian butter” joined along, but this was not the Parm ladden typical stuff. It was light and smooth OO with a touch of Italian spice laced through. It was perfect!
The appetizer of choice was the Burrata. It was fantabulous! The cheese looks like mozz’, but it’s hiding a secret. The outside is a mozz’ shell but the inside is a decadent and creamy white cheese delight! Combined with roasted cherry toms, basil, a splash bals vin, and perfectly toasted crostini! Sometimes the dish is served oven roasted, this was served just above chilled. It didn’t take away from the flavors, but I think I preferred the toms fresh from roasting, and the cheese a tad melty. None the less itwas still absolute wondeful. A great start indeed!
A groovy Italian wedding soup followed. Hardy and spicy with two perfect meatballs! Turkey and Italian sausage I believe. Loved it! A ceasar accompanied the soup. Crisp lettuce, a delish homemade Parm cruton, and a savory dressing with a surprising hint of sweetness. It could turn some off looking for the salty, earthy anchovy kick, but we both loved it and like the soup it rapidly disappeared!
We could have tapped out here, but the main dishes quickly followed. First up was Veal Picatta on bed of just right linguine. A bright, light lemonly sauce with a splash of salty capers complimented the perfectly done veal. I rarely order veal, but am so glad I did! A 5 star classic for sure! Across the table an amazing lasagne Bolognese was delivered. Oh my goodness, this enormously portioned dish was supererb! Spinach noodles, light aromatic sauce, incredible Italian sausage! It was a northern Italian delight with a touch of Macedonian home cooking tossed in. Franky one of the best lasagnes we’ve had.
This truly should have been the last course, but Bug’s persuasive ways drew us in to close with a homemade gelato laced with chocolate truffles. By “laced”, I mean nearly every bite! What a decadent finish to a perfect meal!
The food tonight was briming with a heartfelt, homemade goodness that can’t be beat! Everything was great! Yet the real joy was that it all paled compared to the vibrant spirit of Bug’s. She’s bomb… I swear I’m not related, but I am out of adjectives! Just go and enjoy. I hope it’s a wonderful for you as it was for us!
Great service. Attentive owners. Staff are from all over the world and are excellent

Aug 6, 2025 – treated myself to dinner there again tonight. Another good dinner – good service and food. The owners came over to visit and check up on me. Slower night – thus they had the ability to give even more attention to my visit.
