This place truly lives up to the “family restaurant” name — it has a warm, welcoming atmosphere that’s perfect for dining out with family or friends. The portion sizes are definitely generous, so come hungry or plan to share!
While the pasta was a bit overcooked for my taste, the sauce was flavorful and fresh. The fried octopus stood out — nicely done and very fresh. Service was attentive and pleasant throughout our visit.
If you’re planning to go around 6 PM, I’d recommend making a reservation in advance, as it can get busy during peak hours.
GOOD – A winner because it hits all three keys for success – taste, quantity and price
BAD – Nothing I can recall – if you don’t come hungry, you could regret it (in a good way)
With my 50% Italian roots, Iam very picky and discerning over Italian food. Who would have thought that some of best Italian I’ve had (short of Mom’s cooking) in the last 10 years would be in the Pittsburgh Burbs. It’s true, Pasta Too rose to the occasion.
All my dishes were excellent. The creative stuffed breadsticks eat like giant Italian egg rolls. The spinach and cheese was divine.
My gnocchi with vodka sauce was wonderful. The pasta was fork tender and the sauce, savory.
The hummingbird cake (coconut and banana) was HUGE, densely moist and delicious. The slice could feed three people.
My server was very nice and patient given the busy floor. Price is fair – not because it’s cheap, it’s moderate but the portions are SO BIG you leave with 2 or 3 more meals and that’s where the price comes down.
If you are in the Pittsburgh area and enjoy Italian, this place is a MUST.
Food was very good with generous portions.
The atmosphere was amazing!
Fall decor inside and out.
The food was made to perfection. We had the Fettuccine Alfredo and Shrimp Scampi. The portions sizes were plenty.
The prices were higher but worth it.
Our server was friendly but a bit slow in refilling our drinks or checking back in with us.
I highly recommend this restaurant.
The sauce for the ravioli tasted homemade. The pasta for the ravioli was good, I didn’t taste like previously frozen ravioli, I don’t think it was homemade (honestly did not check) either way they were good and didn’t taste frozen!
The ravioli was a side that I got with the crab stuffed shrimp.. I believe other than the crab cakes it is the most expensive on the menu, it was not horrible however, I would not order it again. The shrimp were very large and lump crab stuffing wasn’t bad, the shrimp didn’t taste fresh at all and were slightly overdone. One of the shrimp had a strange taste.. not like it had gone bad though, just a not shrimp taste. The salad was not great, next time I will try one of the soups instead. Overall service was great, even though the parking lot was completely full we only had to wait about 5 minutes to get a table. I will definitely give it a second try but will stick with their pasta for sure.
