We stopped for lunch on our way to Dulles. We were sat quickly. The waitress was friendly and professional. The sushi was really good, the calamari was good and larger than expected. We enjoyed the Thai Tea too. We will stop again if we are in the area agsin.

Passion Fin is by far the best sushi in Gainesville.
Each time we come here, we try something new, and have never left disappointed. The new item we tried this time was off their special menu, Tuna Tartare. Wow this was good. I wish they had nori chips or something to scoop it up and add more texture but I had no complaints with it.
We also ordered monkey brains, which was so creamy. Philadelphia roll, Deluxe Rainbow Roll, and Tuna Lover Roll are always a hit.
We left very full and satisfied. Can’t wait to be back.

Ate dinner at Passion Fin on 10/18/25. The food was okay, but the service was great. We didn’t like the Volcano Shrimp, and our favorite dish was the Jalapeño Poppers.

Just finished an afternoon audition and was so hungry! It was an unplanned stop in and we went in on a late Saturday afternoon so no crowd. When we arrived, we were greeted at the front. Service staff was uniformed and ready for the dinner crowd. We ordered miso soup, salad with that signature ginger dressing, spring rolls, and a chicken and shrimp combination with fried rice. The server brought us ginger and yum yum sauce. Cuisine at Passion Fin satisfied my hunger. So good! They also take ApplePay. Would definitely come back dinnertime. There is an extensive sushi menu and more!

A solid choice whenever in the mood for sushi or other Japanese entree. I have dined at this location two or three times and found the quality of sushi and sashimi consistently fresh and delicious. It was the choice restaurant for my daughter’s recent birthday dinner and wasn’t disappointed. With six diners all with different appetizers and entrées there wasn’t a complaint amongst us including two very fussy teens. All the dishes our fellow diners around looked similarly appetizing. I dinged the food one star, not because of food quality but rather for artistic presentation. To be fair I’ve probably unfairly compared them to high end sushi bars. Same holds true for the one star ding for atmosphere. This restaurant is very clean and quaint but maybe just not exceptional. Nonetheless, I highly recommend Passion Fin. I also recommend calling ahead for reservations. At this point we won’t consider another Japanese food restaurant whenever we are in the Gainesville area and in the mood for Japanese cuisine.

Nice place for your Sushi kick! Limited seating in my opinion but very good service all around. Plenty of parking and worth a wait for a seat if needed. My sashimi was perfect and the soups / appetizers were amazing, I can eat a ton so I ordered some Pad Thai for dessert. Lol, great place!

I ordered the chicken teriyaki, salad was good, plain rice was good, broccoli was undercooked, chicken was not as tender as I would have liked. It was my first time eating here. It was ok. I will try something different next time. My family had steak & shrimp w/fried rice and hibachi chicken w/broccoli & fried rice. They said their’s was good. We shared appetizer crab wonton, they were very good. People next to our table were very loud. It was a bit noisy & very busy.
