I couldn’t understand why this location has a 3.8 until I read the reviews. Now many are older reviews, but based on my visit today, from a food quality standpoint, it looks like and really TASTES like the bakery has been listening and implemented the feedback.
What I tried to quietly eat was delicious! It was an individual chocolate dessert with cheesecake in the middle. One of the best desserts I’ve ever eaten. And I have the big back to prove it. ♀️And I say quietly b/c I didn’t want Hubby to ask me for a single bite. ! Now he had an individual Smith cake and let me have the smallest bite ever. That cake was gone in minutes!
Now is there a language barrier? Yes, and there was another person working who supported us with ordering as well. But to me, that’s what makes this bakery as unique as it is as you can taste their passion! As long as you are open and PATIENT, this bakery is well worth the try.

I ordered my baby shower cake from them, it was absolutely delicious. All the pastry items are very good and high quality; and they also varieties of hispanic bread and cake. Very recommendable place.

There should be a line around the block for your breakfast burrito, it is that good. I always like to get it with turkey bacon. It is so fresh, cheesy and delicious. Expect it to take 10-15 minutes, it is worth the wait.

I stopped in to grab a breakfast sandwich, with difficulty due to the language barrier, I was finally able to order sausage egg and cheese on a croissant roll. I asked about different cheese options they did not have anything other than american. I also ordered a slice of Oreo cake from the display case. What I got was sausage egg and cheese on a bagel, the egg was really salty, there was too much cheese, I basically ate the top part of the bagel and a few bites of egg. the sausage tasted bad. I went to my car hungry, decided to have a bite of the cake, the cake was stale. I do not recommend this place.

I visited this establishment 10/23/24 to purchase a cake for a birthday. The front female employee (glasses, fake nails, hair in a bun, always on her phone) could use some customer service training. She knows how to greet Spanish speaking customers but didn’t give that same courtesy to me when I walked in. I proceeded to ask her if they had vanilla-only flavored cakes (As other reviewers have mentioned, there’s no labels on the cake display to be able to tell which cake is what). After selecting the cake I wanted and what to write on it, she carried it to the back. I tried calling her back before she handed it over to the back employees, but she didn’t hear me. Once she came back out front, I informed her i forgot to include other words I wanted on the cake and wanted to write them down. With an attitude she grabbed a reciept and pen, and with an eye roll and an annoyed huff like she couldn’t be bothered, proceeds to slam the pen and reciept on the glass counter top in front of me. I write the info down, and she grabs it to take it to the back before attending to another customer. She brings the cake box (empty) to the register and rings up my order. I informed her that I wanted to see how the cake turned out before paying. That resulted in an unnecessary back and forth between her and I before she finally brought out the cake to show me and what do you know, of course the writing on the cake is NOT how I wrote it down on the receipt. At this point, I was fed up with her lack of professionalism, sour attitude, and lackluster customer service that I just wanted to hurry up and pay and leave. Not to mention, i overheard her and the staff in the back mocking me in laughter when she went to grab the cake. I won’t be coming back here. Do better.
ETA: The cake looked ok but tasted a bit off, the chocolate candy bar/pirouline tasted stale, the icing inside the cake tasted more like butter than icing, the cake itself had no chocolate or vanilla flavor it just tasted sweet.

I will recommend to anyone who enjoys delicious cakes to order from Passion Bakery at Georgia Ave. Silver Spring, the Chef/Owner Mr. Mendoza went beyond good service to accommodate me with my order of Napolitano Christmas Yule log cake that looked beautiful, all this well past the holidays.

Bakery items are beautiful but difficult to order as there are no labels on anything. Other customers are trying to describe what they want to order – everyone has to go and point and discuss – takes so much time. Been there several times – only one carafe of coffee and it’s always empty.

I love how the bakery looks clean and the bread looks fresh as well. I got a coffee and a breakfast pan frances with eggs, black beans and cheese. I also order dessert and it was delicious! Not too sweet and the coffee balance it out.
