This place is Alexandria’s hidden gem. It’s a delightful experience from start to finish.

Atmosphere: This place has VIBES. From traditional Thai artwork adorning the walls, to the slow jazz filling the air, to the tables themselves catching your eye with sculpted wooden imagery, this is a surprisingly good place for a quaint date that can impress without busting the bank.

Food: The food was on par with the atmosphere. The pad thai was delicious. Let me take a moment to talk about the miso soup; something rather simple, but it shows that this place even does the small things right. Many places give you miso soup with just broth and dumplings, but this place filled my cup with green onions, sliced meat, carrot bits, etc. THAT’S how you do soup! Even the thai ice tea was so sweet, it could double as a dessert (which to me isn’t a problem, because you can always just add water).

Service: When I was overseas, I experienced world-class food service. This restaurant was on par with those memories. The staff was attentive, the food arrived swiftly, and each person put dilligent effort into creating a pleasant dining experience. There are few places in the US with staff that’s this disciplined. It’s a breath of fresh air.

All in all, I was so impressed with this small, unassuming restaurant, but was so blown away by all aspects of it, that I felt obligated to write this review.

P.S. The pic with food is after I had already started on my soup, so it obviously was more full.

Nice looking restaurant and good presentation. The custom dining plates are a nice touch. The food was basic. They didn’t make it Thai hot or even mildly spicy when requested. It wasn’t authentic tasting at all. The waiter disappeared so I had to go looking at the bar for the jars of spices and peppers to add to my food.
They brought out drinks with the straws already in the cups and unwrapped. It just seems too unsanitary-they should provide wrapped straws of the customers want it.

This Thai spot was… alright. The food was decent enough, nothing particularly stood out, but it wasn’t bad either. Pricing seemed fair for what you got, and the portion sizes were definitely respectable – you won’t leave hungry. Service was friendly and efficient. My main critique would be the drinks menu, which felt a little uninspired and could definitely use some more creative options. Overall, it was an okay experience, but I’ve certainly had better Thai food elsewhere.

My wife, baby, and I stopped in for lunch and enjoyed our meal. The prices were reasonable, the portions were solid and the service was great! I got pad Thai, my wife got drunken noodles, and we shared a bikini shrimp appetizer. Everything tasted amazing and we can’t wait to stop back in, especially with how close it is to where we live! We highly recommend Pasara Thai!

What a wonderful spot – the ambiance and Thai decadence was a pleasure to take in. The food was GREAT tasting. Classic Thai feel and the service was very nice! Super place for a get together, date, or just to escape to South East Asia for a moment…

The service was very poor from start to finish. Our waitress repeatedly gave us incorrect information and then tried to argue about it later. For example, we asked how many skewers came with the chicken satay because we were a party of five. She confidently told us 5–6 skewers. When the dish arrived, there were only four.

The Thai tea was also the worst I’ve ever had. It was unbelievably sweet, almost like drinking syrup rather than tea.

The biggest issue was the “special of the day,” which was a pampano fish priced at $35. We ordered it and then waited…and waited…and waited. We asked the waitress multiple times about it and received no clear update. After a long time, we finally decided to just get the check because the dish still had not arrived.

At that point she suddenly told us the fish could not be canceled because it was already cooked. This was the first time anyone mentioned anything about a long wait. The dish had still not even been brought to our table while we were having this conversation. Instead of acknowledging the delay, she insisted that she had already warned us about the wait time, which simply was not true.

What made the situation worse was the attitude. Once we politely pointed out how long we had been waiting, the waitress became visibly annoyed and started speaking to us with a tone. At one point she said, “This must be the first time you are here.” I’m still not sure what that was supposed to mean, but she’s correct about one thing. It was our first time there and it will definitely be our last.

To make matters worse, the bill was shockingly high for what we ordered. For a table of five we had three appetizers, two entrees, and the fish special. The total came out to about $200 before tip, and around $225 after tipping. For the quality of food and the level of service we received, the price felt completely unjustified.

Between the poor service, confusing information about orders, and very high prices for what you get, the entire experience was disappointing. There are far better Thai restaurants in the area with better food, better service, and much better value.

I’d have to say this is one of the ideal spots to visit after a date at the Kingstown movie theater. They are just a hop across the street and have some unique decor.

You’ll find paintings, Eastern styled furniture, rugs, and a lot of natural light.

I visited for the first time after catching an 11:30 show at the theatre and was seated upon entering. I got the summer rolls, a long island, and some grilled steak, onion, and vegetable dish, which hit the spot.

I recommend it without reservation. They had an abundant staff at the ready, and we’re attentive and responsive during our visit. My party was consistently checked upon, and the dishes were top quality, and the prices were respectable. The bartender delivered on the drinks, and I look forward to visiting again.

Nice place for Thai in a local strip mall. Food is well prepared. Want it hot ask, want it mild ask. Good serving sizes and standard menu…nothing exceptional but good. We had a party of 6, no problems at all. Service was really good…nice folks and attentive. Nice decor inside. The strip mall look outside they can’t help.

We dined here a while back, and we liked the food. It was freshly cooked with balanced flavors in each dish. The service was decent, and the place was decorated with Thai elements, which made our dining experience exceptional.
