Great friendly service! The BBQ was very good. The fried okra I loved. The potato salad I thought could use a little more seasoning like salt and maybe a little sugar and/or lemon juice. The sweet iced tea was perfect. I’d stop by again if I have the chance.

I used to love this place but I’ll probably not be back. My husband and I went there today to celebrate our 43rd anniversary. We waited and waited, no one even brought us a menu. Then a very large group came in about 8 to 10 minutes after us. The owners and waitress gave them menus and started taking their orders while we still waited on menus. I told one of the owners and was told she would get to us in a minute. Meanwhile, she was taking drinks to the large group. We got up and quietly left.

On a weekend trip to Delta, Alabama we were looking for a local place to eat instead of a chain restaurant. Being from a small town ourselves, we were excited about the experience and food ahead. We had high hopes with the amount of cars and foot traffic upon arriving. We visited on Sunday during the church lunch rush. Upon entering we weren’t greeted and sat ourselves. I was shocked to find that, despite all the reviews on friendly service, our waitress was far from pleasant from the beginning. The food was okay to include the hamburger steak, pulled beef, coleslaw, and onion rings. I was particularly excited about the fried okra, only to find it to taste old… almost like it had been fried several times. Additionally, for a restaurant to be named Pit Barbecue, I was astonished at their very limited Barbecue menu. They have many options on their menu but can only order certain dishes on particular days. Then to add to their growing menu, they also have daily specials like chicken and dumplings.
Furthermore, at one point our waitress walked around with a tray of dessert and offered it to tables surrounding us then proceeded to skip over us. At the close of our dining experience, the cashier was very friendly. All in all Partner’s Pit Barbecue seems to have a good thing going but has some consistency issues. Additionally, I feel as though the welcoming atmosphere only extends to the locals.

The fish is so delicious, I didn’t even need tater sauce. I normally use lots of tater sauce, when eating fish, but this fish didn’t even need it, because it was so fresh, and good. It didn’t have a “fishy” taste at all. The slaw is delicious! Most places have “sweet” slaw. This slaw tasted like real homemade slaw. I recommend the sweet potato fries. They aren’t on the menu, but ask for them. Put some butter on them, and they are so delicious! The only thing to remember is ….they only serve fish on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday!

Had lunch here 10/01/2017 had the BBQ beef plate with baked beans and Brunswick stew. After tax and tip my lunch came to 15 bucks and some change. The beef was ok it was chopped very fine, the BBQ sauce vinegar based, it was pretty good. The beef was a bit dry and tasted more oven cooked than smoker cooked. The baked beans,were good and the stew was pretty descent. The service was ok although my drink glass never really got refilled. Overall it was not bad the service could have been better.

We ordered the 8 Oz. Ribeye, poor quality of meat, was tough, not much seasoning on it, I got baked potatoe was cold and have cooked. They fixed another potatoe, it was hot but still not done enough. Salad was good and so was toast. Could use some help in preparing steaks and potatoes.

Went here with a group of 3 yesterday.When walking in,the Decor is Rustic and charming ,love the wood on the walls & doors. Have themed signs ,very cute! EVERYONE IN THE STAFF,greeted us with a smile.They actually make you feel like family with their hospitality.One of us got the 3 pc Fried catfish plate,the fillets were large and fried perfectly,breaded and seasoned well.,One the grilled cajun catfish,it was seasoned well too.The hushpuppies were huge and light/crispy.coleslaw was good and the baked beans actually had meat in them, and tasted great.One got the fried liver plate,again fried hard and perfectly,sweet potato waffle fries,also Great.Portions were large on all servings.Southern charm at its finest.Food was ordered,plated and received fast.Menu has a wide variety to choose from for every craving…The pork salad looks great as well,gonna try it next time.WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK AGAIN!
