Pretty decent spot for good Peruvian food!
I called ahead for pick-up, but still had to wait about 15-20 min to get my food after arrival. That was the only bummer.

But the lady working was really sweet, the food was delicious, and the place looked like it was fairly busy on a Sunday evening. The restaurant itself is cutely decorated and had a nice feel to it. Parking lot is a tad small, considering the other establishments it shares the lot with.

Overall, great spot that I’d go to again.

Worse Peruvian place I have been to. Might as well go to El Rocoto in Cerritos. The ceviche mixo is old and hard I complained and all the lady serving us said was “ok” never came to our table to ask how we were doing food took 50 mins to come out. Mind you it was empty only like 2 other people there. The old lady with dark makeup had an attitude even when she took our order. I had to go to the counter to get my refills for water? Came to drop off our food and thats it never came by our table. She seemed to be bother when i even got up to get a refill for my water. So expensive and the food is awful. I would not recommend the jalea is suppose to be fried and cooked. Why was my food raw? The shrimp was over cooked awful and why was it HARD?!? The food here is probably old and bad. We literally paid and left all the food was left there are they not embarrassed? Ended up going to another place to eat because this place was literally a -10 . Why is a can of inca cola $6? When in the menu it said $4? There prices are scams. Go somewhere else and save your money from this place. Me and my grandparents will NOT be coming back!

I have dined at several other Peruvian restaurants that are likely more popular, but Cholito surpasses them all. We consistently order the lomo saltado and tallerines, which are very flavorful and delicious. The service is always great and attentive.

This place had some potential. I ordered a plate of Lolo Saltado and was enjoying it when suddenly I realized the piece of stake I was chewing ended up being wrapped around a two-inch piece of tough plastic bag. I informed the waitress and she apologized and said the bag was used to measure the right portion for the beef. She offered a 20% discount when I paid the bill and although it wasn’t necessary, I was not happy with the experience. The tough plastic scratched the roof of my mouth and I still feel unpleasant many hours later. I personally won’t return to this restaurant due to the experience but I doubt (or at least hope) this was a very isolated case.

Aside from that, the rest of the food had a good flavor. Not the best, but certainly not the worst.

The place was at about 50% capacity with half of those dining outside under a tent and the other half in the restaurant. We dined inside.

If it were not for the bad experience I would rated this 3 stars (or “I liked it”).

The priced were also a bit high. The plate was $19.99 and the portion was decent but not large enough to qualify the price. For that amount If love to have a few bites left over to take home.

In the end the dish consists of steamed rice, french fries, purple onion, and a few pieces of beef in a sweetened soy-sauce type dressing. In my opinion not worth the $20.

If you are a foodie that likes Peruvian cuisine it may be worth s shot. If it’s your first time trying Peruvian cuisine I’d recommend searching for alternative restaurants first.

Food not good at all, unsavory meats, smelly “chicken al carbon”, a lot better Sam’s chicken. Do not recommend it. Not coming back.
