Overall not bad. Seems to be a mix between a sit down restaurant and a chain fast food place. 3.5 stars. Service was excellent and food was decent. About $17 per person for just the entrées. For that price you get a medium amount of warm food with not a ton of flavor. The meat in the burritos just tasted like tomato marinade and the fish burrito was too rich and cheesy. Nothing to write home about.

My husband and I came for Father’s Day lunch with our 3 month old. Food was pretty good but we were really disappointed with the service. It took a while to take our order which was okay. We ordered one beer, an appetizer, and two entrees. At this point the table next to us was finishing up eating. We still hadn’t received our drink or appetizer when the NEW party that was sat next to us got their bar drinks. Our meals finally came out and we never got our beverage or appetizer. We told our waiter to cancel the appetizer as he was giving us our main meal. We never even saw an employee to ask where our stuff was prior to this (about 25 min after ordering, 40 min at the table). He just said “oh okay” and started walking away so fast we had to call him back to ask for the beer. No apology or attempt to make it right. Manager never came to check on us even though I saw him check in on another table when we sat down. It was my husbands first Father’s Day and it was a really disappointing time. I wanted to like this place so bad we just moved nearby and love this type of food but won’t be going back.

Staff and customer service is amazing. Food is delicious and high quality. Their Vegetable Burrito was such a pleasant surprise with fresh chopped vegetables. Most other places use peppers and cheese while Parrando’s has squash and zucchini. It was great having Mexican food that wasn’t covered in sauces. Their dishes are clean and presentable (and even better not in a puddle of sauce). Tamale Cakes are so delicious! A must try for sure. Vegetarians should be aware, not all staff is on the same page on their vegetarian sides. The refriens bean are not vegetarian and neither is the Mexican rice but the black beans and white rice are. Definitely visit this small business located at Cupcake Heaven’s old location in Haymarket.

Nice quiet lunch at Parrando’s today. The enchiladas were fantastic. The restaurant was nearly empty, so we were able to enjoy quiet conversation without distraction. The whole experience was quite enjoyable.

We went for dinner on Sunday, Mother’s Day. Surprisingly, we were seated right away. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I ordered the taco platter along with a margarita. We had a great time and definitely plan to go back. I’ll take pictures then and update this review.

I placed an online order for pick up at 6:13pm for myself and 2 kids. My pick up time was 30 minutes/ 6:43pm. I arrived to the restaurant at 6:42pm and was greeted by the hostess. I told her I was waiting for a pick up order and gave my name. She came back and stated it would be just a few minutes they were still working on it. At 6:55pm she approached me again and said it would be just another few minutes. I asked how much longer because I needed to get home and she told me “5 minutes at the most”. I noticed another gentleman that was also waiting and was told the same thing (spoiler alert: he ended up waiting almost as long as I did for his food). I stepped outside to call my husband who needed to be somewhere to inform him that it would be just a few more minutes. I came back inside at 7pm. I was avoided by all of the staff until 7:15pm when I was told they were boxing it up now. Well that was a lie. I continued to wait being avoided by the hostess who now was not even standing near the door to greet patrons. At one point while I was waiting there I experienced an irate customer SCREAMING at the manager about their poor dine in experience which was very uncomfortable and off putting. I kept considering cancelling my order and just going through Mc Donald’s because it would have been faster, and in hind sight I am mad that I didn’t. Almost 100 dollars with tip for Mc Donald’s quality food its WAY too much. Anyways, I continued to stand there staring into the food preparation area where the hostess was now putting away cups avoiding eye contact with me so that she didn’t have to disappoint me further when I asked how much longer it would be. The manager was now behind the counter boxing things up and I ended up getting my food at 7:38pm. Almost an hour later. I live right behind the restaurant so I don’t have a far drive.

Food here is amazing can’t recommend it enough for that. Will not make up for the service though. Had to ask for chips 3 times. Didn’t come til after the appetizer came. Asked for two salsas. Never got that. Beverages were empty. Restaurant wasn’t particularly busy. 8 tables total. Sides didn’t come with fajitas for ten minutes. Asked for a manager 3 times couldn’t get one.

Unfortunately I am use to the quality from the Ashburn restaurant. Hardly saw my waitress to order another drink. The salsa had to much cilantro tasted like soap. The tacos were there standard and tasted good. Placed a family next to our table who kept interrupting our dinner. Honestly wasn’t expecting such low quality dining experience at the Haymarket restaurant.
