Well if you have been to the original site this is very similar! Still the best burger in the Twin Cities hands down.
They have added a few variations apun off the classic parlour burger. The bacon bourbon burger was quite good. I was happy I deviated from the classic parlour, but more often I would stick to the classic (but that is just me). It is still the same HIGH QUALITY base patty. They have a handful of veg friendly options, but I would check with server for compliance. Their fries and popcorn are still staples items from original site. And just as good
They have an adventurous drink menu, albeit only a dozen options…but flavorful and quality. They have the typical wine/beer options from original site. They do not have the spread of spirits at the original though so you need to go there for that. There is a bar area.
Staff is very friendly and pretty knowledgeable of the menu.
Note it is first come first serve so you may have to wait a while to get seated. Note one thing to do is put name on list then go to Excelsior Brewing to kill some time. Or just take it out and go to brewery to eat! Or in summer take down to lake and enjoy the waterfront!
Nice to have an option in the SW area for the Parlour Experience!!

Solid!! Loved the famous burger. The popcorn is weirdly fabulous, and the dill dip with the fries is a must. Jalen took great care of our group and the other staff were also welcoming and accomodating. Docking a star because while the cocktail menu looked varied and interesting, the NA menu is pretty sad. There were 4 options and they were all fruity and citrus-y and summery. Just not the vibe for a below zero January night in a cozy basement bar. In 2026 it’s just time to do better when it comes to NA offerings. The menu also didn’t explicitly state whether the bitters in the NA negroni are NA bitters or not (this doesn’t matter to me, but it does to many, especially folks in recovery). Also — it is a best practice to give NA drinks different names than their alcoholic equivalents. No matter how well trained your staff and how great their hearing is in a loud crowded bar, it reduces a lot of anxiety for your non-drinking patrons about being accidentally served alcohol. (If anyone at Parlour takes the time to read all this, I appreciate it!)

Had the Adios Amigos cocktail and the falafel, both were made well. The cocktail was subtly sweet, strong, and refreshing, and the falafel was crispy and seasoned with a hint of spiciness. Prices are decent for the portion and atmosphere.

The room is smaller than I expected, but I felt comfortable at the bar and the booths seemed spacious. Decor is minimal with a hunting trophy room/lounge aesthetic. Service was friendly and attentive.

Thanks for welcoming me to the area!

We have now been to all the Parlour locations and many food truck locations, and I would say this one is not at all a good representation of their restaurant. The food was good but the vibe was not. Our bartender was not welcoming and friendly at all. We were the only ones sitting at the bar and it was as if we were such a burden to her. The restaurant was not busy and she had no time of day for us. Our drinks were made fine but there was no smile or check in on our satisfaction along the way. When we were ready to order more, she came out from the back chewing a mouthful of her dinner (I’m assuming) which was super unprofessional. Yuk! We didn’t order anything else – except our bill. The burger and fries were great as always but once the food came out we were invisible. I will not return to this Parlour location. They are missing the fun vibe of the brand here. Shame because this location is out my back door.

Overall, we enjoyed the atmosphere, but thought the food was over-priced and not great. We paid $3.00 for dill aioli sauce that was nothing more than mayo in a standard serving container. The burgers were so thin and at $16.00+ each, we could have purchased a pound of 80/20 and grilled at home. The old fashioned was ok; nothing earth shattering here. The server was quick to turn the table and we felt rushed only to be forced into preset tip amounts at checkout.

We’ve lived in the area for many years and we were excited to see the restaurant open. Big disappointment. Go to Snuffy’s at a fraction of the price and staff who want you there.

Tried to eat here. Waited 50 minutes for our simple order of burgers and fries which never came. No updates or apologies from bartender. Finally left and went to Culvers where we got waited on and our food. Will never go back.

We used to eat here all the time when they were downtown, but we just got the worst most sorry looking excuse for Caesar salad. This was one of them, and the other one came without croutons or dressing. Both of these Caesar salads had no protein and cost more than the cheeseburger, by the way. $19 Caesar salad

This is the second time we have been to the Excelsior location and it was much better than the first experience. The burger, fries with Swiss aïoli and chicken sandwich were all fabulous. I do think the cocktails are on the small side, but they are good. Similar to other reviews, the last time I went (when they first opened), my burger was too salty, but they must have figured out the kinks with that because it was seasoned pretty perfectly last night. I also love the atmosphere. It is very cozy and perfect for a rainy or chilly night. We went upstairs to Mirabelle after for a cocktail and that is also a hit!

Parlour Bar in Excelsior: A Vibrant Neighborhood Gem

Living in Excelsior, Minnesota, I’ve always enjoyed seeing new places that bring life and energy to our beloved town. Parlour Bar, located at the corner of Water Street and Second, is one such place, and it has quickly become a standout destination. Operated by Brent Frederick and his partners at Jester Concepts, Parlour has taken over the space in Matt Mithun’s building, revitalizing it with subtle yet thoughtful renovations. The cozy lower-level basement is now an inviting, lively space that adds to the charm of downtown Excelsior.

On our second attempt to visit Parlour—our first was met with a bustling crowd and no reservations available—we decided to arrive early on a Monday evening. This time, we were greeted by the incredibly kind and warm staff, including Phyllis, who went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The hospitality stood out, as every server was attentive, thoughtful, and full of energy. Even our nearly four-year-old daughter was accommodated with her own “mocktail,” a fun mix of cranberry juice and soda water, which made her evening extra special.

The drinks and food at Parlour are just as impressive as the service. I tried the “Who Are You Callin’ Jerk?” tequila cocktail, which had a perfect balance of guava, lime, and a touch of spice that added just the right amount of kick. My wife, Sabrina, enjoyed the “Adios Amigos,” a tropical concoction with tequila, sotol, rum, pineapple, and demerara that felt like a mini vacation in a glass.

For food, we shared Parlour’s famous burger, a masterpiece made with ground chuck, ribeye, brisket, white American cheese, and served on a toasted egg bun. The flavors were rich and perfectly balanced—a true standout that lives up to its reputation. We also had the dill-brined fried chicken sandwich, paired with crisp lettuce, pickles, and dill sauce, and a side of fries. Each bite reflected the high-quality ingredients and care put into every dish.

The ambiance is another highlight, with upbeat music and a vibrant energy that perfectly complements the food and drinks. While the menu is focused, everything is executed to perfection, making Parlour an excellent spot for a night out. I’d recommend arriving early to avoid the rush—clearly, the word has gotten out about how good this place is.

Another feature worth noting is the free covered parking behind Water Street, near the newly developed rental homes by Red Leaf Partners. This new addition to downtown Excelsior makes it so much easier for locals and visitors alike to enjoy everything our charming town has to offer. It’s little details like this that enhance the overall experience of a visit to the area.

I’m incredibly grateful to Brent Frederick and the entire Jester Concepts team for bringing this gem to Excelsior. Parlour Bar seamlessly blends incredible food, expertly crafted cocktails, and a welcoming atmosphere. For anyone exploring Excelsior, this is a must-visit spot, and I encourage you to experience it for yourself.

Your friendly neighborhood patron,
Geoffrey Serdar
