Parky’s Hot Dogs is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience a classic Chicago hot dog joint. Located in Forest Park on Harlem near 290 the structure has a rich history and serves up some fast food. Chicago Style dogs are a highlight $4, $5 with Fries or $7 Combo with Fries and Fountain drink.

Don’t let the overall look of this place fool you It might seem like an out of place small almost empty restaurant right next to the sidewalk, But the food is delicious, Very friendly staff of 2 at the moment. It was my First time going I had a hot dog meal with fries and a drink Hot dog was delicious. Fries surprised me VERY delicious home made fries, food was good The price was great. Service was very fast in and out within about a minute well worth a stop, I am looking forward to trying out some of their other menu items my one and only complaint if I had one is that there is no porking available for them at the moment

Fast courteous service nice amount of fries with the Chicago style polish. The chili heats hits you the 1st couple of bites but it isn’t too spicy just right.

Could be a great hot dog stand, has clean outdoor tables and friendly service. The problem is the food. The dogs aren’t even Vienna but some subpar, salty pink thing. Dog had only one tomato slice. No neon relish. Fries could have been superb but was sabotaged by too much salt. Had to toss everything in the trash.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been here. I had to come back and try it. They have one of the freshest & most authentic American styled burgers. Made fresh with all natural beef. You can tell it’s real meat when you don’t get bloated after you eat. The people running it are very nice. Kinda pricey came out $60 for 5 burgers with fries. But it’s worth it. Super clean place. Everyone’s wearing masks which says a lot about the establishment. Love it. I wish they had on the air condition on, it was pretty humid in there.

Now serving ketchup!
Haha, well this is definitely an eclectic location with strange food, but what do you expect from a triangle shaped building?
They don’t put prices on the menu anymore and it’s cash only. ($23 for 1 hot dog, 1 Italian beef, 2 shakes, and 2 fries) The all-beef hot dog is available upon request and was alright. Shakes were interesting, they offer a cherry flavored one that is likely made with Maraschino syrup. The chocolate shake was a bit weird too, not quite malted and not quite plain chocolate.
All in all it was a unique Chicago-land experience.

Great people but most of all, THE FOOD IS . I ordered the Italian Beef lightly dipped with cheddar cheese and hot peppers. The sandwich is so good and flavorful. The cook that was there the Black guy, does a wonderful job for sure. He def understood the assignment, I also thanked him because he deserves it. This was my first time and I will be back. THANKS GUYS

Frozen but had no flavor and was over cooked which made it hard fountain drink was nasty.

The regular “non-beef” hot dogs are horrendously bad, the worst hot dogs I’ve ever had in the greater Chicago area. The all beef dog and the polish are quite good though, so do yourself a favor and get one of those, it’s well worth the extra dollar. Funky, cool little location with some nice seating outside. If you’ve got a car and can drive 15 minutes, Gene&Jude’s is a better bet, but if you’re in Forest Park and need somewhere in walking distance, this place ain’t too bad.

This is a favorite place of my youth. Parky’s hot dogs since I was a child. My parents went to the one that was on Roosevelt road since they were in high school. This is decades of visits across 4 generations. The service is no-nonsense Chicago style. You order, you pay, you step aside when there is a long line, so not a place to chit chat with staff. Efficiency is key. If you are from the area, this normal. The atmosphere is perfect, as in, this is still Parky’s. I love it. If you want new, fresh, stylish atmosphere, this is not the place. You do have some tables outside. There is no seating inside. Think of this as a concession stand at your kids baseball game. You go to the window, you order, you take your food over to the stands. Parky’s is the same, except you get to be inside while ordering. The fries are fantastic, if you’ve had them all your life. Some would say they are too greasy. But to us, that’s part of the charm. They still put the fries in the bottom of a paper lunch sack, then put the paper wrapped Dog in the bag on top of the fries. Give this one a try. You just might find a new favorite
