This location is a few minutes away from where we live, so my partner and I came here for dinner. I read that the fried chicken was good, so I planned on getting the fried chicken dinner. My partner got the BBQ dinner. We were asked if we wanted a small or a large, and we both went with large. For my dinner, I got the dark meat chicken with three sides: green beans, macaroni and cheese, and french fries. It also came with a choice of hush puppies or corn sticks, and I got the hush puppies. My partner got the brunswick stew, macaroni and cheese, fried okra, and the corn sticks. We got a large sweet tea and a cup of water for our drinks. We placed our order, and the cashier assisted us in navigating the menu and choices. We sat down and waited for about 10 minutes before our order was called. Our meals were about $14 each, and that was an amazing price for the amount of food we got. It could easily be two meals, possibly three. The fried chicken was delicious. Very juicy and flavorful. The mac and cheese was creamy and had a good flavor profile. The green beans tasted very nice and were very green. The french fries were good, too! I tried my partner’s fried okra and it was great. Sometimes, fried okra can be slimy, but it was not slimy at all. The hushpuppies and corn sticks felt and tasted like they were freshly fried. The sweet tea was absolutely delicious and one of the best sweet teas I’ve had in the state of North Carolina. I am a sweet tea fan and I like it very sweet, so this one was great. We got a tea refill before we left, and the person who helped us was very nice! Every person we interacted with was kind and helpful. I like that they have drive-through, to-go, and dine-in options for eating. We really enjoyed this experience and will definitely be back!

Good portions and yummy food. The hush puppies are delicious. The slaw is interesting in that it is so finely processed that it almost seems mashed. The fried okra was enjoyable. As was the fried chicken. The staff was pleasant and patient. Their sign said short staffed but they were doing an excellent job keeping up with the lunch rush! I noticed their mission statement and am pleased to see it. We plan to come back to eat more next time!!

This visit was a Friday at 11am opening. The bathrooms were not particularly clean. The restaurant is old and run down. Seriously cold inside. Bbq was bland and tasteless. Slaw was a green mushy blob. Fried okra was good. Green beans in a tiny little pot were inedible. Probably in my top 5 worst meals out ever. Food presentation was seriously lacking. Styrofoam plate with hush puppies scattered. Styrofoam container for small dinner plate (my order was not to go)

Got the combination dinner. I think I liked the fried chicken even more than the barbecue but they were both awesome! The slaw is different than any other slaw I’ve had before and it was . Mac and cheese and okra were both fine but nothing special. I didn’t really care for the potatoes but might just be my personal preference. You can’t beat the value … SO MUCH FOOD for the price. Service was great too. Highly recommend.

Let me get the worst part out of the way: the French fries were cold and flavorless. Sure, the temperature is bound to decrease during their delivery journey, but I could tell they weren’t fresh when they went into the container. I’m sure cramming them into the same container as my chicken and potatoes didn’t help them get any less soggy (hello, condensation), but I digress.

As I have had the rest of the items from other places in ENC, it was hard not to compare… so although I must admit I’ve had better elsewhere, everything else was still pretty good and hit the spot. The hush puppies were my favorite!

I do recommend this restaurant, but as I have moved, I won’t be returning anytime soon. However, I may do so when I come back for vacation. I knocked off a star for those horrid fries, but overall, I was content with my meal.

One of the most disappointing bbq experiences ever.

The good.

Best hush puppies ever.
Chicken was cooked perfectly.

The bad. The chicken was coated with some vinegar enriched off brand ketchup. Ruined the whole experience. Had to wipe the sauce off with a napkin to enjoy the chicken.

There are no sauce options other than vinegar and hot sauce .

Taking home the pork to put another sauce on. Will try that with their Mac and cheese. Maybe my disappointment will wane by then and I can add a star to the food.

Girls behind the counter can’t speak clearly and don’t know how to guide someone who hasn’t been there before. Didn’t seem to care that I looked lost in their menu format. Seemed generally disgusted that I was there

Atmosphere was not bad away from the counter. Pretty clean. Kind of a generic 1970s bbq joint look, which I’m perfectly happy with.

The experience was the most disappointing because it could have been great

update: Mac n cheese was fine. Bbq pork was dry. Would probably make a fine topping for the Mac n cheese, by itself this kind of vinegar pork is not for me. Regular BBQ sauce only made it a little more moist, couldn’t fix the flavor. It’s probably good to people who like it so I can’t hold that against Parker’s.

My wife loves the fried chicken.

The absolute worst BBQ that I have ever had. If you’re considering it….. just don’t unless you like to eat tasteless tough cardboard that will have you burping it up for the rest of the day. I don’t like to leave bad reviews, but holy heck, this was bad.

Food was nasty would not recommend spent 14 dollar a disaster very disappointed cold slaw is not cold slaw ! They should not be allowed to sell this ! Shrimp were ok that’s it ! Not going back !>>>>response to the owner comment how can you try to tell somebody how your food taste when I just ate it and it was disgusting don’t get under these comments when people are telling the truth about your food y’all should put more pride into yall recipes since y’all are such a family own Macaroni taste like it came straight out of a box Coleslaw taste like a container full of mustard. It’s nasty point-blank. I wasn’t gonna say nothing but you responded under the comment really got under my skin that is no way to take constructive criticism y’all need to create new recipe’s.

Don’t do it. Now, I get why my in-laws don’t like this place. The only thing that was good was the pork and vinegar. The coleslaw was terrible. The Brunswick stew was disgusting. The green beans are exactly what you poor out of the can you probably already have in your cabinet. Thank goodness it was a drive-thru and we could eat disappointed at home and find other things to eat.

Staff were very nice. Ordered to go. We had the same amount of bbq on the child’s plate as there was on the large dinner plates. The potatoes were underdone and the slaw was missing on all but one. The bbq was good as well as fries and green beans. I suggest people get the child’s plate. Unless my order was a fluke. The kids plate cost 4$ less but same amount of food.

5-13-23: bbq pretty good. okra excellent. Corn sticks dry as dust even after vinegar added. Drive thru nice. Workers seemed inexperienced.

12 – 13– 24. They are very busy but very quick. I’m eating a barbecue plate with fried okra green beans potatoes hush puppies everything is excellent. Service is great. Worth the time and the money. That
