This is the first time I have visited Parker and Otis since they moved from the brightleaf area in Durham to the tobacco campus. I was a little disappointed because the restaurant now seems to only offer a shallow lunch menu rather than more of a variety including breakfast food. I did get a sandwich and had the roast beef on wheat/sourdough with cheese. The sandwich was good and I did enjoy it, but $12 for a sandwich could have got me much more of a meal at other restaurants. Their gift shop is well stocked. There is no indoor seating at the current time, but they seem to be working on a very small area for indoor seating. If you’ve ever visited the old Parker and otis, this one is definitely not what it used to be.

Very trendy sandwich shop/bookstore/gift shop/and more. Sandwiches are really good, prices are very reasonable. They were pretty busy when we got there, so it is a pretty popular place. They also selling other things – wine, specialty condiments, books, games, gifts, etc. Good place to get a sandwich and shop while you wait.

The proprietor’s design aesthetic makes this one of the best curated gift shops in the world. Not only what they have but also how they are displayed makes everything irresistible. The sandwiches and candy and drinks offerings are amazing too!! A true Durham treasure for all ages set in the the delightful American Tobacco Campus.

My wife and I love this place. We bring out of town guests here for the relaxed atmosphere. The food is easy going but done right. We ask for lightly toasted on toasted sandwiches as occasionally they get carried away with the toasting. Watch out for the birds they are waiting for you to turn your head and they are brave. Overall a wonderful place to eat and enjoy downtown Durham.

Their chai lattes are delicious (try getting it with pumpkin!!) & they’re always kind and helpful, even to the dozens of high school students on campus at lunchtime. The non-cafe part of the store has cute novelty gift options, but they’re very overpriced. I’ve gotten some cute NC-themed postcards and gifts that I love!
