Parish Café & Bar is one of those rare Boston spots that feels both timeless and effortlessly cool. Diner-style at heart, it’s the kind of place where you can slide into a seat at the bar, order great food, and feel immediately at home.

What truly sets Parish apart is its legendary sandwich menu. Each sandwich is created by a different well-known Boston chef, turning the menu into a curated collection of local culinary talent. It’s a brilliant concept—and even better execution. Every bite feels intentional, bold, and deeply satisfying.

The service is friendly, efficient, and polished without being stiff. You’re taken care of quickly, whether you’re popping in before a show or settling in for a longer meal. And speaking of shows—the location cannot be beat. Just a quick 10-minute walk to the Theater District, making it a perfect pre- or post-theater stop.

The food is downright delicious, and I couldn’t help but notice plate after plate of huge onion rings being carried past the bar—golden, towering, and impossible to ignore. They’re officially on my list for next time.

And don’t skip the cocktails. They’re creative, well-balanced, and full of flavor—clearly crafted with as much care as the food.

Parish Café & Bar nails the balance between comfort and culinary credibility. It’s approachable, inventive, and undeniably Boston. A must-visit whether you’re a local or just passing through.

What a cozy gem! The concierge at the Hilton Park Plaza recommended this place for a good late night place to get food. It did not disappoint! The sandwich menu was extensive and most reviews showed a sandwich, so I felt like that was the only proper choice. I asked the bar tender what the most popular sandwich was and he listed 3, including the one we got, The Fox. It was pork, mozzarella, sliced apples, pickled onions on focaccia bread, with some sort of delicious sauce. It was so good. The bread was buttery and airy and crispy and all the things you want from focaccia. So good. The spicy relish was great to dip the Cape Cod chips in. Kitchen is open until 1AM (at least in a Friday)

Incredible food and a great atmosphere! Portions are huge and delicious. Some of the best mac and cheese I’ve ever had (and I am a mac and cheese connoisseur).

We split the simple chicken and mac and cheese, which were plated separately and made us think we ordered two of each by accident! The chicken was tasty but the flavors were slightly too acidic. Would definitely come back to try the sandwiches.

My husband and I stopped here for dinner before the July 4th fireworks. We sat at the bar and enjoyed chatting with the bartender. It was busy as I expected it would be on a Friday night that was also a holiday.

The space had a great vibe and very much seemed like a fun place to hang out at the end of the day or for a midday lunch.

I ordered a Little Kahuna mocktail and it was delicious! Perfect combination of flavors – I could easily have ordered a 2nd. Both of us chose the Genesis sandwich. The description sounded so good! When it came out, I was excited to see that the chicken cutlet was on the thinner side, which I usually prefer. In this case, however, the chicken was so thin that it became tough when cooked. Hubby ate his, but I couldn’t get past the tough and chewy texture. I did love the coleslaw, though.

I am guessing this is a one-off experience due to how busy it was; other reviews were great and were what persuaded me to stop here. If I am in the area again, I would probably give it another try on a quieter day.

I can’t speak more highly about this place! We travel to Boston 2-3 times a year and this is a must stop 1-2 times during our trip. The food is amazing, especially Rachel’s Hot Sister (literally get it every time). The concept is so unique and makes such a great place to eat. The one thing I wish that was different is that dogs are allowed on the patio, but that seems to be more of a Boston downside than this specific restaurant.

Bowl-O-Rings, Hawaii 5-, and Zuni Roll. My very picky son ate the whole Zuni Roll (so it must be good) and said it was filling. The Hawaii 5-0 is delicious and perfectly balanced. The cabbage does not overpower the sandwich in texture or flavor. It’s perfectly sweet and not too sweet. The pineapple is there but does not overpower. The onion rings are light and airy and have a good crunch, and they taste better with the holidays than they do plain. They are not heavy onion rings, but they are onion rings, so expect a little grease. I was traveling to Boston, and I’m glad I ate at Parish Cafe & Bar. I would happily eat there again. They have mocktails on the drink menu, too, which is thoughtful and welcoming for everyone. It’s a bar, so it’s not a quiet place, but the quietest tables are in the back. Service was excellent.

Highly suggest going after 10 PM as the sandwiches are half price and the value is strong. The sandwich bread is fresh, and the sandwiches are genuinely good. Drink prices are standard bar range. The atmosphere is fine but can get too noisy. Note that the tip is calculated on the full, non-discounted price.

Great sandwiches and service. Has a front outside for nicer weather. Large portions for the sandwiches also.

Amazing sandwiches and cocktails! We had the Fox (pork on ciabatta) and Lobster Roll and the Spritz Season. We highly recommend the former sandwich, especially for the ciabatta, and I loved the bitter and herby flavor of the drink. However, the lobster roll was not up to the standard of other restaurants.
