It was honestly such a fun surprise to see Paris Baguette here in Chicago.
The moment I saw the sign on Michigan Avenue, it immediately reminded me of my recent trip to Korea.

Not long ago I visited Seoul and Busan, and Paris Baguette was everywhere. You can find it on so many streets there, and it has become a very familiar bakery brand in Korea.

Of course, the concept of Paris Baguette is a bit different from a traditional artisan bakery.
It feels more like a large, well-organized bakery chain with a production system behind it, rather than a small handcrafted neighborhood bakery.

But that doesn’t take away from the experience at all. In fact, they do a really great job offering a huge variety of breads, pastries, and cakes that are both attractive and delicious.

When you walk inside, the first thing you notice is the incredible selection.
There are so many different types of bread, sweet pastries, sandwiches, and beautifully decorated cakes.
It almost becomes difficult to choose just one thing. Honestly, just looking at all the options made me feel full already! Everything looks colorful, fresh, and very tempting.

The flavors are also very enjoyable.
Even though it’s a chain bakery, many of the items are surprisingly tasty and satisfying.
It’s a great place if you want a quick pastry, a light breakfast, or a small dessert with coffee.

For me personally, visiting this location felt a little nostalgic because it reminded me of my time traveling in Korea.
It’s nice to see this familiar bakery brand expanding internationally and bringing a small taste of that experience to Chicago.

I really hope this location continues to do well and stays here for a long time.

A fun and delicious stop if you’re walking around the South Loop area of Chicago.

Typically we aren’t the biggest fans of chain bakeries because their food doesn’t taste too fresh or maybe just misses a bit of the TLC a local one has, this has even extended to other locations we’ve had of this exact chain. However, whatever is going on at this Paris Baguette has us rethinking that sentiment a bit. The space was clean and the workers moved quickly. There is a wide variety of things for you to get here and the self-serve process is very easy to navigate. We opened a sliding door to one of the cases and it fell off the hinge knocking a pastry off our plate so we hope they looked into and fixed that.

When we were done collecting a hedonistic amount of bites we headed over to order a coffee and sit down, all of which was speedy. Since we ordered so many pastries, we’ll give a quick breakdown of each one:

Pumpkin Scone – delicious with a firm bite, pumpkin flavor very welcoming
Pain au Chocolat – a chocolate croissant, buttery and light with some chocolate throughout (could use more chocolate)
Sugar Mochi Donut – simple but delicious, light and chewy. A very good sweet treat
Pastry Frank – a hot dog in croissant-like bread. A worse version of a kolache, the one item we would say to pass on
Grilled Cheese – delicious and well balanced, although the edges of the bread were a bit tough to work around
Hash Brown Bread with Ham & Cheese – by far the best thing we had on their menu. Savory, cheesy, and salty all in one item. We would highly recommend it to anyone
Iced Coffee – not the best, a lot of other chains do it a lot better but if you need the boost get it

Again, Paris Baguette is a chain so with that comes chain expectations, but these were some pretty good pastries, and if the food is good the food is good. If you’re looking for something quick or convenient then this is the spot for you, but if you’re looking for a more local feel in your bakery trips then look elsewhere.

Paris Bakery… wow! When we saw it, we decided to visit thinking the products would be top-notch, but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. A total disappointment. The almond croissant wasn’t fresh and had barely any filling—maybe 30 grams at most—when it should be generously filled; it looked like just a thin line and the flavor was off, so I left it. The cake we tried was fine, but it didn’t impress us as it seemed it would. And since we don’t have doubts but certainties, my recommendation is to offer truly fresh products… that alone would make a big difference.

Very nice place. The tuna sandwich was prepackaged but very fresh and hit the spot. The bread was also excellent. I had a great strawberry cake and a taste of the fig cake. Both were fantastic. I had a great time.

had such a great experience at Paris Baguette! The pastries and cakes are always fresh and delicious. The store is very clean and has a cozy atmosphere, which makes it a nice place to sit and relax. The staff were friendly and helpful, making the whole visit enjoyable. Definitely one of my favorite spots for a sweet treat and coffee break!

The pastries were delicious. They weren’t busy and it seemed like people were waiting long for simple iced coffee. There are plenty of seats but most tables needed cleaned. The cakes looked really good and the prices are reasonable.

I visited an hour before closing. The staff was friendly, store was clean and presentable. They also had a public restroom accessible via a QR code.

The latte was made to my request, the breakfast sandwhich was well portioned, but could have used a little more seasoning.

Although the prices were higher than expected for certain items, they did seem to have a rewards program.

Overall, it was an okay visit.

Both the plain and ham & cheese croissant were fresh and yummy. Service for coffee drinks was extremely slow. Barista wore gloves but touched everything including a spray bottle without changing their gloves – unsanitary. Also had an attitude because she had to remake one of our drinks because she gave it to someone else while we were standing at the counter but tried to blame it on us. Also I ordered a cappuccino and they made me a latte. Go for the pastries but avoid espresso based drinks!

Their signature salted butter twist roll is the best roll I’ve had in my life! Get it heated, the butter inside it melts and pairs so perfectly with the salt on top!!!

Everything was fresh and delicious. We wanted to try lots of different treats so we each got some and cut them up to share. All of it was delicious, none of it was stale.
