After moving to this area three years ago, I learned quickly that there wasn’t much cultural diversity when it came to food. As someone who loves Haitian cuisine, I was excited to find a Haitian restaurant only 30 minutes away, especially since I was feeling homesick and didn’t want to cook. I called ahead, spoke with the owner/head chef, and looked forward to trying the place that evening.
When my wife and I arrived, we did run into some confusion about the pricing. The online menu listed the griot platter at $20 and included griot, plantains, akra, and pâté kodé. I was told it came with a little rice, so I ordered an extra side. At checkout, the total was higher than expected. The staff explained that the online menu had not been updated and that the in-store pricing was correct. I didn’t mind paying more, but clearer communication upfront would have been helpful.
We spoke briefly with the owner about it, and although the conversation didn’t fully clear up the confusion, he was respectful and we parted on good terms.
When we sat down to eat, the platter included griot, plenty of rice, plantains, marinad, and Haitian macaroni, though it did not include the akra or pâté kodé listed online. The food itself was decent—especially considering the limited options for Haitian cuisine in this area. The marinad and plantains were good. The djon djon rice was a bit softer than I prefer, and the pikliz wasn’t quite my taste, but those are things that can easily be improved. I also enjoyed a watermelon soda and a Kola Couronne.
Overall, I’m glad there is a Haitian option nearby, and the restaurant has potential. A few adjustments to consistency, menu accuracy, and flavor could really elevate the experience. I hope they continue to grow, and I wish the owners success.

Everything about this place was wonderful. The owners were beautiful and friendly. Very welcoming. I got the goat with black rice and lima beans. It was so good. I wanted to finish it but decided I wanted to enjoy it a second time. The prices were quite reasonable as well.

I absolutely love Haitian food because it instantly takes me back south to Little Haiti! The dishes here are really tasty, with generous portions that aren’t overwhelming. I especially love the green plantains and the griot!!
One thing to keep in mind is the pricing and service. When you meet the chef, he’s incredibly welcoming and friendly, which makes the experience even better. The lady who helps him seems a bit more reserved, but that didn’t take away from the meal.

The food here is so good! The owners are super friendly. I would’ve posted a picture of my food but I demolished it. I always get the fried turkey, (either rice is good!). My only complaint is I’m a spice girl and I need a bigger container of pikliz because its so good!

I’m sorry but no. I had the turkey plate, the turkey was decent but the rice was so bad, the texture was odd, it was like gummy but firm and no flavor at all. Then the beans were watery and needed much more salt. I was disappointed.…I wanted to like it so bad but I would not go back. The service was good. Edit: I should have included the pictures initially, I have nothing to lie about. I wish I could post the video of the rice but google doesn’t allow videos. This was not to harm the business or discredit anyone else’s experience, however, this is my honest review and I will definitely 100% not be back to give another try or even recommend after this kind of response! Shame on you, if you only want raving reviews, then make sure your business is consistently great!

The food was terrible and the picklys was the worst I have ever tasted. Allow me to explain the rice was slimy in some parts as in stale and spoiling and the turkey gravy was rancid. The griot itself was ok.

When I tell you this was the best $27 I ever spent!!! This is enough food for four people the picture does no justice!!! It’s fire!!! Like really really good! And the people are so nice! Worth the trip.
