Reviews
Other than the pizza sauce lacking any seasoning and just being tomato sauce, the pizza was pretty good.
My service experience was limited to online and walk-in pick up, which went exactly as expected.
(Edit)
The owners are very in tune with their business!! After reading my review they called me to discuss it rather than having an online debate.
If that’s not 5 star, I’m not sure what is!
They let me know the sauce is tamed down a bit because it’s a family restaurant and their customers enjoy different things. It didn’t show as on option while ordering online, but thw owner let me know that a spicier/ more robust sauce can be requested.
I will be going back for sure and provide more updates!
Outstanding, crispy, flakey, crunch.
Delicious, mouthwatering flavor for the sauce.
Juicy pepperoni, can’t beat a classic pepperoni pizza.
0 flop.
7.8/10
The owner was there. Great pizza, chicken strips, gyros, onion rings, etc. & the tea is good. They do delivery, takeout & dine in. I’m going back another day to try thy chicken alfredo.
The food was great, service was great. If you wanna nice laid back place to eat, check them out. A little pricey though I understand the reason for increasing prices as grocery
Full Description:
Inside:
Currently eating in the restaurant.
The inside is kinda scary. Lights are dim, floor has obviously not been refurbished since whatever restaurant was here before, you can tell by the welded spots on the floor. The roof has black mold and other water damage.
I can’t get over how distressing the interior is.
Service:
I’ve read previous reviews on the manager, and I just met him. He’s an alright guy but English is definitely not his first language, and if he’s rude over the phone or no you gotta give the guy a little slack. The Waitress is a real sweetheart.
My previous time I ordered, was a Special Pizza with a 2 liter of Pepsi and a slice of cheesecake. I did not receive the Pepsi, but I did like the Pizza, the crust was crisp and a little chewy, which is how I like it. I’ve had pizza from New England to Texas and theirs isn’t the greatest but its certainly not the worst.
The cheesecake I believe is made off sight or ordered in and is not made in the restaurant. If I’m wrong management can get ahold of me and I’ll change my review on this part.
My order today is a Vegetarian Pizza with Ground beef as an additional topping with a side of Jalepeno Poppers. (I like the extra vegetables and its cheaper to order the Veg pizza and add one meat than the special pizza and add 2 or 3 more veggies.)
The Jalepeno Poppers are also frozen and not made on sight. You can normally tell by the taste of the Jalepenos. Frozen and Pickled Jalepenos are nowhere near as firm and pack the heat of a fresh one, along with the fact that you can’t make a clean bite with frozen ones.
All in all its a pizza place, I’m not expecting the Texas de Brazil or Gordan Ramaey style food, and if you like Chili’s, Applebee’s, and other chain style food, this place will taste just fine to you as well.
Suggestion to the restaurant.
Replace the ceiling tiles with fresh new ones.
New Lighting or bulbs at the least, figure out where the moldy smell is coming from (probably the ceiling)
Get the wires from the TV and have them put professionally inside the wall.
I don’t know what you can do about the floor welds but I would eventually refurbish the floors.
Lastly I would update your decor, the pictures look like they were stolen from a hotel room, the seats go from Pine Green to Seafoam Blue. I won’t lie this place would be pretty baller with a few arcade games like Galaga or something.
Give your waitress a raise she’s awesome.
Obviously cause of COVID this is stuff you probably won’t be able to do for a hot minute but is definitely something to think on.
The owner is super sweet & his wife is awesome. They are usually at the restaurant working. Great cooks. Good food choices for the kiddos. My little one year old today was fussing over the last piece of pizza. She’s ONE.
In case you missed my last review, here are some more pictures of today’s visit. And when you go, you have got to try their brownies & their zamboli deserts. Amazing, not overly sweet but just right. I hope I named the little donut like dish right. But it is awesome!! Anyone in Norfolk, Va. or Chesapeake, you gotta stop by there & try them out. Tell them Tami sent you from Google Reviews. So that they can see that reviews do matter & do make a difference in business. Go help their business out folks. It is a family owned establishment & they work very hard & prepare great food. Too many of our small family owned businesses are suffering still since Covid started a couple of years ago. Many did not survive but, this place adapted & is still here. They deliver, do window pickup & dine in. I have not ordered anything to this date that was not great.
They serve many sodas by the 20 ounce bottle & tea by the glass. The tea is just right. Reminds me of Texas tea. And people, in Texas, we know how to make good tea.
Take your family & go enjoy yourself some really great food in a nice clean, family friendly restaurant.
I loved that today they had cartoons playing on the tv which helped with my kids while we enjoyed our lunch.
Thanks Paradise Pizzeria for another exceptional lunch. We’ll be back & hopefully with a crowd. 🙂 10 Stars folks.
