I’m not going to tell the locals anything that they don’t already know, but this place is AWESOME. I’m from the Midwest and I immediately felt welcomed and at home here. Beer was cold and cheap, service was fast and friendly and the food was outstanding.

Paradise Lounge could be a bar anywhere in small-town WI, but it is right near the Capitol building. Great place, friendly people, cheap prices. The only thing missing was a moving Hamm’s beer sign.

The building is a lot smaller than you’d think it should be for the number of people there. The walkway between the booths and bar is so narrow you almost have to touch people as you walk by. There’s a single pool table but I would guess it’s really hard to play on it because it’s so cramped. The bathroom definitely just smelled like straight urine. And I’m pretty sure I saw the guy making my food rub his nose while he was cooking. 10/10. Place is incredible. Best hole-in-the-wall I’ve ever been to. Atmosphere is a time machine. The vibes are immaculate. The bar staff was amazing. I paid just over $20 for a burger, basket of fries, and 2 Spotted Cows on draft right off the Capitol block. I’ll be back next time I’m in town.

My husband and I have visited many bars in Madison and the paradise lounge is by far our favorite. It’s a real local place and they treat you like one of them right away. Our bartender Steve was absolutely amazing and really helped make the bar very enjoyable. Highly highly recommend!

Came here from Chicago to visit family and if you ask for a Chicago style dog the cook Andy will make you a dog that checks every box. Definitely will come back to try out the brat since they did so well with the hot dog.

Stopped in late after midnight to grab a bite to eat after seeing a show. Great service, good portions of food for what they charge. Being the area of town their in. I was expecting far less bang for the buck.
