My wife and I were looking for a place for dessert after lunch. We are from the Detroit area so we figure we give this place a shot. She just opened up for the day, but she gave us great service. My wife got the lemon lime Tart and I got a root beer float. Also bought the fudge brownie, which was excellent. It was like a big Reesie’s cup. We also got a pint of peach sorbet which is out of this world. We are thinking about stopping back up again before we go back home. Please have patience. She is shorthanded. So last week we had some warm weather, so one evening. Instead of dinner we decided to try out Papsys, although we’ve lived in Wilmington for 10 years, I’d never tried this place out so we thought we’d give it a whirl.
I must say that was my first and my last time. I know they haven’t been open long this season Bust I was very disappointed, so 2 of their machines was down so not much of a variety. Then my husband wanted a Sunday in a waffle bowl. Nope, No waffle bowls. So He settled for a medium vanilla shake. Then I asked what soups they had. Oh no, sorry, no soups right now, so I just got a cup of double chocolate soft serve. Which was tastless and I threw it away. Then she rang us up, twelve bucks! for what? Really? Then I asked For a receipt, oh we don’t give paper receipts. Good lord I was seriously wondering if I was gonna get a spoon to eat it with or if they was out of them as well.
But on a better note the young lady who waited on us was very pleasant.

I absolutely LOVE Papsy’s! My fiancé and I are always greeted with a smile + great service. The outdoor seating is the cutest and it’s an amazing place to relax/soak in some sunshine. After grabbing dinner across the street, we always make it a point to come enjoy a new treat on the menu each time. My fiancé and I have never been disappointed and always look forward to coming back. Wilmington is so lucky to have Papsy’s – it’s the best. I cannot recommend enough!

Absolutely disgusting!! For 17$ my boyfriend got a peanut butter milkshake and they poured milk in it with vanilla ice cream and peanut butter and didnt even blend it ! I got a double fudge frozen yogurt and it barely had any taste. We will definitely never be back!

We visited Papsy’s for the first, and last, time today. As soon as we entered the store, there was a strong mold-like smell. They didn’t actually have any ice cream, just a few flavors of sorbet. I asked for a small waffle bowl, and she gave me a medium, which was way more than I could eat, or even wanted to eat. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience and we will not be returning.

Such a cute place in downtown Wilmington! The ice cream was amazing, and loved the unique flavors, too! The service was great, and there are games to play with the family on the tables. Highly recommend!
