Traditional BBQ house with a down-home tavern vibe, long wood bar, photo-lined walls & live music.

Yall I have never had better bbq in all of missouri! Go check them out I recommend the brisket nachos and the pulled pork sandwich with slaw! Try the house made mustard based bbq sauce even if you hate mustard like I do, it’s delicious! The owner (female) that I spoke with was down to earth and genuinely nice. Please go show them some love yall. ❤️ Thank you for the wonderful experience. Parking kind of sucks but it’s 1000xs worth it!

I want to be honest here and say this was for delivery. But i was excited to try this place, the reviews and small local place, i had this saved on my maps for a while and happened to see today they were on uber eats. I got the sampler with ribs, pulled pork, and brisket. It came with 4 sides, i did double potato salad, cole slaw and bbq beans, i also added mac and cheese since i was sure this place would be great. I hate to bash on a local small owned place but holy cow. This is by far, absolutely the worst bbq i have ever had. Most of it went to the trash and the meat to the dog. I was raised to not waste anything and i didnt even think twice on tossing this. The ribs were a crime against cookery. It was a marvel that ribs could be this bad. Usually bad rib are still ribs and okay. Idk how to even describe how awful these were. The brisket had the color of pot roast, was dry and rubbery as could be and had less than zero flavor. The pulled pork tasted boiled and had a consistency i have never had in pulled pork. The macaroni and cheese tasted exactly like the liquid kraft macaroni and cheese with some random bits of stuff threw in to make it seem home made. It was eatable but that is it. The cole slaw went to the bin. Straight up bad. And oh boy, what the actual heck is going on with the bbq beans. Very weird flavor and just awful. The bbq sauce im pretty sure was the spicy sweet baby rays. But hey the potato salad was actually pretty good, it would come of no surprise if it was pre made like the sauce and macaroni. This was like criminally bad, this has to fall under fraud or something. I would be ashamed to put my name on this. This experience is the reason people talk bad about missouri food. This is one of those places that you talk about for a long time, but because of how awful it was. Ky3 on your side needs to do a piece on this deal.my flabber is ghasted. Legitimately one of the only times i have ever thrown away food.

If you’ve watched my top ten video, you know the story about Pappy’s Place. If not, you really should watch it!
The 2 year “Google Maps time limit” must be up, because it’s letting me renew my review. Which works perfectly because Pappy’s has new ownership! But, it’s the same great food, same historic location, same great service, just new folks behind the bar.
I do have to mention I was talked into sampling their chili. WOW! Probably the best I’ve ever had outside of my house!
Please go try a burger and the chili. And tell them the Hillbilly sent ya.

Our waitress made a pulled pork and grilled cheese concoction that I just had to order. When I heard about it. It did not disappoint. Also, the Reuben burger that my colleagues ordered apparently was also the bee’s knees. Would not have known about this place. If it wasn’t for a local recommendation. Go here get food. Have a good time

Five stars all around. Fun atmosphere, friendly service, and the food to match. We had the sampler platter and the brisket was out of this world! Shout ~out to the Mac and cheese as well. They were out of pulled pork, but we will be back for it for sure. Nice assortment of beer for those who partake and live music on the patio on the weekends. Don’t drive by this little gem, stop and get some grub!

With an average of 4.6 stars (at the time of review), I had solid expectations for the place. I’m sad it was not even close.
Important stuff:
This place is small; there are only a few tables and the bar top. Its an old, busy, biker/local bbq soor. There’s lots of visual stimuli everywhere – if you’re into that. All that’s fun – super.
The selection of sides is solid, and the menu has decent variety. The fried okra was on point; hard stop, this eas the best bite of my meal. In a BBQ joint, that’s a thing.
I ordered a pulled pork sandwich. What I got was a heap of pulled pork on a bun. The pork tasted like it came out of a crock pot – not smokey at all. And not really seasoned. So if slow cooker pork on a bun is your thing, this may be for you. It wasn’t for me. Not even a pickle or onions? Just wet, unseasoned meat and bread.
So… I’d say pass. The 4.6 is likely from locals in their feels about a nostalgic place. Springfield has better BBQ, and it’s not even close.

Great off the beaten path BBQ & Bar. Live music some nights. Burnt ends were awesome, Reuben was huge and the Cuban was tasty. Great service by Landon the owner. Overlook the neighborhood and get past the front door so you can smell goodness.

I’ve been hunting for a new BBQ joint and I knew as soon as I stepped in I wasn’t going to be disappointed. I ordered the Pappy’s Reuben and it came out fast and fresh. The sandwich was great with generous portions of meat. I also ordered their fried pickles and that was the perfect combo. If you’re looking for a hidden gem, come to Pappy’s Place.

This place had some decent wings and amazing customer service, I still
Haven’t had a chance to see the live music but maybe that will change my review to a 5 start.

I love it so when I got there I had no place to put my bicycle and they allowed me to put out front they watched it and informed me anytime something suspicious was happening which was pretty cool a lot of people don’t give a dang. So when I got in there I ordered some coffee and the barbecue pulled pork sandwich with fried okra and coleslaw they were very hospitable Cafe intelligent and comfortable friendly conversation with me. Was very attentive to when I needed something and yes they do have hot tea in the coffee was good. The sides were amazing add three different kinds of barbecue sauce each one amazing sandwiches were full of meat which is awesome you get your money’s worth.
