I’ve been coming to pappy’s for about 13+ years, so since I was a little kid. I always liked it as a kid but now I can give a proper review as an adult. I’m a pretty regular customer I’d say, since I come to pappy’s at least once a week. The menu is awesome, it’s big but not too big to the point where it’s overwhelming. They have tons of different options. All day breakfast is a huge hit, but they also have sandwiches, steak and fish dinners, pasta, etc. They even have all you can eat specials on the weekdays. I’m personally a big fan of the pancakes and also their homemade chicken Alfredo. Everything really does taste very nice and homemade. Sure it’s not a gourmet experience but it doesn’t need to be. Portions are huge as well and the prices are very cheap compared to a lot of places around the cities, which are just two more reasons I go a lot. Staff are always very friendly and attentive, they even know me by name now. The atmosphere gives off the vibes of a small town family owned restaurant, which is kind of what it is already. It’s definitely a hidden gem. I’ve attached some pictures of food I’ve gotten over the years from pappy’s. It’s worth every penny!

Was in the area and decided to stop for breakfast. We sat in the Tavern at the bar. Wow, where do I start?? The service was some of the worst I’ve experienced while doing Google reviews! The bartender/server – older woman, long gray hair with tattoos…. has the worst attitude and has ZERO people skills!! She literally made the atmosphere very uncomfortable. There was a customer next to us, when the food arrived, the bartender “heavily” placed the plate down on the edge of the bar, to where the customer had to reach across the bar to get their plate! She rolled her eyes, threw items in the bar, everything was slammed on the tables – ketchup, plates, drinks, etc. It was an unpleasant experience!
With that being said, the food was delicious!!! My eggs were perfect, steak was tender and cooked properly, the hashbrowns were hot and the toast was “fully” buttered! Everything was hot and tasted fresh. So I recommend?? Hmm… maybe a different experience in the cafe?? Other reviews says the service across the board wasn’t good, but I had to see for myself as a Google reviewer. Yep! They were right. Pappy’s needs to review and reevaluate their staff. More or retraining definitely is in order.

The service is great. They can get quite busy, even in off hours. It’s a small, cozy, informal family place with a bar next door in a separate area. Daily specials.

The server was absolutely excellent. I had breakfast and couldn’t eat the food. They cook with very old oil on the grill which leaves a very nasty taste in the food. The servers work incredibly hard and are very good workers. I ate there a few times and the servers are constantly very good but the kitchen needs to change the oils regularly.

I had the chicken stir fry. It was delicious, the best meal I had in awhile! The chicken was so tender, you could cut it with the fork. The vegetables were just perfect. The seasoning on the stir fry was so tasty. We had the sweetest waitress, her name was Penny. She did a great job taking care of us. Please put this meal on your menu permanently as I can’t wait to try the other kinds of stir fry that you have.

My boys and I stopped in for dinner after our original choice for a good diner turned out to be closed 4 hours early The boys were STARVING by the time we arrived. We came in and the waitress greeted us right away and said to seat ourselves. It was a quiet restaurant with the diner feel I was looking for. The waitress was an absolute angel very attentive, quick service, and our food came out so fast, which was great because the boys were SO HUNGRY. (I’m almost positive the waitress asked the kitchen to rush our order and I am so grateful.) The food was pretty good! I also appreciated that they partner with the bar next door and I was able to enjoy an adult beverage while there. Overall, a great experience!

I had the pork ribs and they were very tender and excellent. The carrots were a weird choice of the cooks to combine with ribs. They were overcooked. The hashbrowns were good. Hubs had the bacon cheeseburger which he said was very good.

Penny our server was amazing. She greeted us with a smile and brought our beverages right away and allowed us enough time to review the menu and place our order. Food came out promptly and hot. She checked back with us after first few bites to be sure everything was up to expectations. Really nice and clean establishment. Stop bye and give them a try. Ask for Penny!
