The restaurant area was neat and clean. The young lady behind the counter was professional and polite. We went before 5pm believing all the food would be hot and fresh. We ordered the rib & chicken combo to go. We thought we were getting ribs and the bbq chicken. We received end pieces of the ribs and chicken wings. They were very dry and it was almost like eating jerky. The sides were alright. We had cole slaw, green beans, potato salad, and Mac &cheese. I liked the potato salad and green beans the better of the four. They were true to the southern ways to sweet tea and lemonade. Maybe, down the road, we’ll give it another try, but go earlier in the day in hopes of not having dry and end piece portions that cost $40 and a tip. I was very disappointed especially after looking at other photo reviews before eating from here.

Short Review: The ribs are amazing! The pulled pork is awful and inedible. Wings and sausage are very good. The sides are solid. The sauce was super mediocre.

The smoked chicken had no flavor. It was fresh out of the smoker, so it was hot but had 0 seasoning on it. The chicken on a stick was actually seasoned well but was over cooked, dry and the vegetables were burnt. It has definitely changed and not for the good.

The Best BBQ I have had lately. I ordered the chicken plate (1/2 chicken) with fried okra and potato salad. The chicken was so flavorful didn’t need the sauce and juicy. I couldn’t stop eating……

Great ribs by the way please way attention the signed that are hang like the one that says check you bag before you leave. I was there and I ordered a 3 rib bone plate and just what was in my bag. It cost 13.50 no bread,sides just ribs. Was that a mistake ? Somebody help. Unfortunately I didn’t check my bag

Never had a bad meal here. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Food is always fresh. My personal favorite is the smoked wings. There were 2 things that kept me from giving it 5 stars.

I was very disappointed with Pappy’s today. My friend and I went to Pappy’s for lunch today, we ordered two plates: (1) bake chicken, fries, macaroni and cheese with lemonade (1) bake chicken, fries, potato salad with lemonade. When we got back to work, we were both VERY disappointed, the chicken wasn’t cooked. It was RAW, the outside looked good, but the inside was raw. I called back to the store and was asked if I will hold on for a minute I said yes, and the cashier hung up the phone (I’m sure that was an accident.) So, I called back several more times before I got the cashier. I told her about our problem, and this is her words, “Well you will just have to bring the whole plate back here.” I explain to her that we were on our lunch and that I couldn’t do that. She said, “Well you will just have to bring the whole plate back here when you get off work.” I said ma’am we were able to eat some of the side items. She said “Well all I can say is before we can do anything you will have to bring the whole plate back.” Never again will we be going back to Pappy’s on hwy 39 in Meridian, MS. That was $28 wasted!!!
