Gosh! This place is Ah-Mazing!! Our Party of five loved every bite! The drinks are amazing. Atmosphere wonderful. Our server Jesse was fantastic and super helpful. Very friendly too! Beside a super cute little ghost town!
We had the bison burgers made medium rare. They were fantastic. Our server recommended medium rare for them not to be dry. We had the ribs and they were to die for. Also the pork sandwich was fantastic an very flavourful. We plan to go back on this trip!
HIGHLY recommend this for wonderful real American grill!!!!

Got lucky with a cancelation so our group of 8 was sat down quick and normally, a table for 4 can be more than 30 mins wait. Service was great. Food was big portioned and delicious. What a history this place has with Sir Paul McCartney having performed here before. Photobooth was also fun! Must try!

Great BBQ ribs, Cole slaw and their BBQ sauce in the best. We sat outdoors and brought our dog so we love that they are dog friendly. The staff was attentive and sat our party of five people right away. It took a minute to get our orders in because we were outside and they were busy but as soon as we ordered the waitress came back often to check on us. Baked beans and Mac and cheese were also great. It’s located in Pioneer town which is a fun old time western town used for movies so the kids loved roaming around and exploring. Highly recommend this place if you are in the area.

Iconic desert vibe with great food & nostalgic and full of soul — in Pioneertown!

Pappy & Harriet’s is an absolute gem in the desert. The atmosphere is legendary — rustic, authentic, and full of character. It feels like stepping into a classic Western movie set with amazing energy.

The food is solid and comforting and the energy here is truly one of a kind.

A timeless place that stays with you long after you leave.

Tips:
• Go early or expect a wait
• Check the live music schedule in advance
• Perfect stop after Joshua Tree

Overall, this place is more than a restaurant — it’s an experience. Highly recommended.

So this is a mixed review, the food was good and the atmosphere was nice, but the service there is a bit of a mixed bag. Everyone that works there lies to you about anything so don’t believe anything they tell you. I get it, they have a monopoly, so they probably don’t care much about this, but here are your warnings. We put our name in, they said a 2 hour wait and we had to stay close, but open seating at the bar. We hung around and after about 15 minutes we found a spot at the bar. Started ordering food at the bar, then they said since we had kids they couldn’t serve us at the bar. OK, asked how long for To go food, and was told 15 minutes, so we decided to order it. Not 5 minutes after they call our name, only 20 minutes after we put our name in. The catch is they said we can’t be seated now since we weren’t going to get a full meal, even though we just spent $80 on the To go food (which we will learn soon wasn’t even started yet). Talked to manager, he was no help, he led us outside into the cold and told we could sit there, and he would light the heater that was out (he never did). We waited 45 minutes for our 15 minute food. I get it, the place was busy, but don’t lie and tell us 15 minutes when it was going to be 45, we would have chosen not to order takeout if that was the case. We just took our food to our Airbnb at that point t. Asked if ketchup and bbq was in the box, was told it should all be in there (fyi, no ketchup was in the bag, and only 2 small bbq sauce for 3 meals). All around a horrible experience from this place, but again, they have a monopoly, so they probably don’t care.

About the food, paid $6 for bacon and onions, got 2 small slices of bacon and barely any grilled onions, and hardly any fries, saw a lot more fries on the plates for the in house orders. The menus didn’t say anything about cole slaw on the pork sandwich.

this a historic locale with great food and a vibrant interior. today was our third visit over the last several years. the food is great. i love the brisket burger. it is as delicious as any i’ve ever eaten. i eat it w/o any mustard or ketchup. you just don’t need it. the thick cut fries melt in your mouth with just the right amout of coating. the walls are covered w photos of many notable visitors. they have musical performers most evenings, it’s packed.

We dropped by for lunch and didn’t have to wait. We loved the rustic and authentic atmosphere of the restaurant, and the service was excellent start to finish. A little bit pricey but great quality.
Only giving it a 4/5 stars because the meat was overcooked (still excellent though!).

Baby Back Ribs: 3/5 I tasted the possibilities. Very balanced flavors, not too smoky and not too salty. Everything was in place for it being the perfect rib. The sauce was also very good, it kinda reminded me of steak sauce with a little more spice. But maybe because we weren’t seated in the main dining room, the ribs fell flat. A little tough, a little cold, I felt like these could have gotten a little more love at the end of the day.

Coleslaw: 2/5 It was just cabbage and some really light dressing. It tasted kind of like the salad packs at Costco.

Mac and Cheese: 2.5/5 Again, not for me. I felt like it was too saucy and cheesy, making it overly heavy and gloopy.

Ambiance: The ambience bumped this place up a rank. I really liked the vibes here. It is casual, it does have a neighborhood bar sort of energy, but the whole place is immaculately themed and I can see you kind of dressing up for the festivities.

Service: Everyone here was really nice despite it being super busy. Another weird thing I noticed was that all the customers were really nice too.

Parking: A big dirt lot. If it’s busy they usually will have someone guiding parking. Not too difficult but can get busy and dark.

We visited here for a gig but arrived early for food after a few recommendations. We were really disappointed in the BBQ – my half chicken was super dry and served with cold fries. My other half ordered the cowboy combo. Huge portion of tri tip but it was so chewy he only managed half a slice. Only saving grace was the mac and cheese side – that was pretty tasty. Also when we were arrived we were asked if we were happy to share a table (the restaurant was half empty) and were then sat in a table round the corner with zero atmosphere or service (they did let us move).
