A great little eatery if you are in the mood for bbq. They open at 11. We got here early on purpose to try to avoid people but folks were waiting to come in pretty much at opening which I think is a really good sign. The atmosphere was cool, very well done and the food was solid. Their deserts are worth a look into if you have room left. Staff was extremely friendly and the portions were ample. If you are in town and want a meal skip the fast food. Prices here are comparable and the food is real, not like the junk your going to get from the gray boxes.

Went in a Monday afternoon with only one other patron in the dining area. The atmosphere is welcoming. However, the table was so sticky we had to lay napkins down just to be able rest our arms without sticking. Very off putting.
I ordered the brisket sandwich meal with fries. It came out cold. The waitress took my meal back to the kitchen. Fries came back hot. The brisket sandwich was topped with a cold bun and served with refrigerator cold bbq sauce. You can imagine it made the brisket cold.
My mother ordered a no meat spud with onion and and cheese. She chose to forfeit her 3rd topping option but after getting it, it was clear, she needed to order more cheese. Smh.
Online menu prices, reflected on their site, are not the same as the dine in paper menu.
Dine-in patrons are served on foam plates with plastic cutlery.
We paid approximately $35 for 2 sodas, a baked potato, small side of green beans, brisket sandwich, fries, and a cup of cheese sauce.
I did give my feed back to the lead waitress. I received an explanation that sauces are kept refrigerated due to health code and preservation and that buns are not warmed but served at air conditioned room temperature.
Overall, was a very disappointing visit to Pappie’s in Gas City.

Stopped in this rustic-decorated restaurant. Very friendly and attentive staff, very clean room and restrooms! Tenderloin was 10/10 for me. Fresh toppings and bun, thick and moist meat with crisp breading. Pulled pork was excellent as well. Highly recommend this quaint restaurant in Gas City, IN.

The Coleslaw was very good with a sweet taste.

A lot of food! I got the two meat with sides, green beans were amazing, no onions yay!! The baked potato was good as well. I had pulled pork and ribs. The ribs were a little more greasy than I like but still delicious. Pulled pork was also delicious . My husband got the Mac bowl and we were confused as to why it wasn’t in a bowl, it was just piled on his plate. He said it was delicious just would have rather it in a bowl. Service was super. We were very impressed with the Christian music playing, that set the atmosphere to be relaxing and enjoyable.
This was our first time, as we were just passing through on a work trip, but we do recommend this nice restaurant.

Decided to stop here on a whim and boy am I glad I did. Brisket, pork, and chicken were all great. Brisket was tender and juicy with great flavor. The mac and cheese was some of the best that I’ve had in a long time and the sauce suck to the noodles and tasted great. The peanut butter pie was also a great end to the meal. Service was quick and friendly. It’ll definitely be on my list of regular stops when I’m in the area. Also, the prices are surprisingly low for the quality and portions you get.
Almost forgot to mention that both sauces that they have are great. The spicy with a nice heat but not too spicy and the sweet with the right amount of sweetness.
The peanut butter pie was delicious, creamy and the peanut butter cup pieces on top were also excellent.

One of my all-time favorite stops, especially during the summer months. Top-notch food and service and with an atmosphere of a classic BBQ restaurant. I’ve recommended Pappies to hundreds. I love supporting mom and pop places like this, because you’re guaranteed a great meal that has smoky flavor. My favorite meal is a double portion of the BBQ Chicken with a side order of slaw and baked beans! And the amount you get, you’ll not walk away hungry! I’ll definitely keep coming back for more BBQ. Ordered the three meat combo. Good portion size. Brisket and ribs were good. I thought the chicken was going to be a leg quarter or something along that line. It was shredded chicken which doesn’t mean anything, just unexpected. Chicken needed more seasoning. Regular and jalapeño Mac n Cheese had good flavor but could’ve been creamier. I’d go back.
